I think your short windup one timer technique is optimised for lower flex sticks, I would say for that 77 is ideal. and for clap bomb one timers something like 82 would be ideal.

@Kuch86
@Kuch86 12 күн бұрын
@@BarryMcCokinerr no it’s not at all. If you look at what flex nhl players use it’s 70-100 and we are talking the most elite players out there. They also are way stronger, weigh heavier, and know how to use the flex way more than any other skill leveled player. Then the companies are telling us we can use the sticks full capability by using the same flex they are using? That doesn’t add up at all. If you buy retail sticks and use 75-100 flex and you aren’t overweight or abnormally tall. trust me you should be using atleast 10 flex lower than you already use.
@BarryMcCokinerr
@BarryMcCokinerr 12 күн бұрын
@@Kuch86 It’s not an issue for pros obviously but wouldn’t an adult just snap 65 flex really quickly? I’m 5’10 about 190 and 90 flex has been perfect for me
@Kuch86
@Kuch86 12 күн бұрын
@@BarryMcCokinerr no. A whippy flex doesn’t mean it’s less durable. Honestly more flex is probably less durable because the stick has less give with contact. Anyone would definitely benefit with a low flex and compared to what pros use we are getting scammed with our flex options in retail sticks.

Love to see a radar on these and then also take a stick and radar shots with it regular, then cut an inch off and repeat until you’ve gone down like 4 inches, cause they get stiffer as they get cut down but idk what the physics are like with the length being shorter too. Question: I see players take one-timers by moving their front foot rotating it behind them to the one knee position (like the guy in this video). Does anyone know the difference with this technique and the method of stand in a tripod (facing the puck), and bending your back leg while leaning into the front foot while extending and straightening your front leg. I know Matthews does both methods, but I'm just confused with why players will switch between the two or stick with one. Is one better for certain situations? And what situations would those be?

At 180 lbs you’d be fine with a 77 flex. Why would it break any faster than an 87? As long as you know how to shoot and aren’t taking too much ice with your shots.

@adamrichmond6348 2 күн бұрын
Calm down there big guy, the whippy sticks are meant to bend not break. After a back injury ive been playing with softer flex sticks. I used to use a cut down 95 that was around 106-110 range and now in going full length 65-68... havent broken one yet and im 6'5" 205. They are hard to get used to, you can't leanbon them etc but they don't just break for no reason any more than the stiff ones do.
