Great description and instructions. I'm becoming less afraid of the D-Jetronic fuel system with your sites of videos 😊

I've just bought a 1977 XJS in Malaysia and knowledge here is super limited. Thank you SO much for these videos! Well presented, easy to understand and it means I will get my car running much sooner. The injection system has been butchered and I have been told the ECU is dead. At least I know where to start looking as an alternative. :)

Look forward to it Adam, I might retire the car this year and get to sorting these things out as she is nowhere near what she should be. I can’t trust its reliability at the moment. Determined to sort it out though. 👍

Great video. Congratulations I bought a mercedes with D-jetronic and all disassembled. Between the parts I received a fuel pressure regulator and a fuel pressure dumper. My doubt: what is the difference in regulator and dumper.

On your fuel pressure gauge set-up, the cold start valve is not included on your test. This is only a suggestion, use and connect a T-piece connector where you normally connect the fuel pressure gauge then the remaining two outlets is the connection for the fuel pressure gauge and the cold start valve, in this way the cold start valve can also be tested for any possible fuel leak. Thank you for sharing your knowledge on D-Jetronic system by BOSCH.

Hi - really enjoyed watching your excellent D Jetronic series. I have a question from sunny UK. I attached a fuel pressure gauge to the 1975 Mercedes 280SL and the fuel pressure bleeds away over night. I attached a clear hose to the bottom of the fuel pressure regulator, re-pressurised the system to 2 bar and sure enough watched as fuel slowly leaked into the clear hose via the regulator. Would you agree that is a pretty good test/indication that the fuel pressure reg if knackered? Have you come across any sources for an alternative top the Bosch FPR's ? Mike in England

Great video! Can you share what fittings you used to build the custom adapter for your car?

Great videos, very easy to follow, thank you! Do you know if fuel pressure regulators are interchangeable between car brands? I know ECUs and MAPs mostly aren't. I have an Opel Admiral 2.8E, and I wonder if a FPR from D-jetronic VW or Porsche could be used?

Adam, do they usually fail leaving the system with high pressure or low?
@LivingWithAClassic Жыл бұрын
Usually high
