I was ecstatic when I saw that HARPAD 12-string converter. I wanted one right then and there, but then I heard how expensive it was. almost $400 for that? I’ll just buy an actual 12-string guitar for that price... might be useful if you want to transform your J-45 into a 12-string or something but for lower-budget players such as myself, that’s not worth it. I mean, why even is it so expensive? It’s a big piece of plastic with strings on it, why would it cost that much?

It's probably not mass-produced, and it has to be really strong to withstand strings at tension, especially when it's so thin and oddly shapped - string tension could easily snap something like that in half.

That submarine pickup, if it was made well, would be a good idea on your low strings through an octave and then into a separate bass amp. I knew a local 2 piece band where the guitarist did that to good effect only he didn't have the extra pickup to selectively choose the bass strings.

I had one of those Submarine pick-ups, had all those issues you mentioned, just wouldn't stick and had a very low output from an acoustic. Real shame.

But wouldn’t the 12 string thing have different thickness for each string would it be weird with all kind of messed up strings
@dariusxxo
@dariusxxo 4 жыл бұрын
sometimes 12 strings just double the strings to make the sound a bit thicker, kinda like a chorus

The high string in the courses of a 12 string are an octave higher than standard tuning, so they’re all gonna be super light strings relatively similar if not the same in gauge.

The guitar jo sounds more like a bad electric sitar. I'm glad to see you know the correct technical term for these items. Doohickey. Some folks think they are doodads. This is incorrect P.S. My daughter gave me one of those shirts for Christmas one year. I played it at a gig that New Years Eve. It went over great. People were running up taking pictures through the whole song. I did Keep on rockin' in the free world. The rhythm guitar on the shirt. and the solo on guitar. It actually sounded pretty good.

On the GuitarJo subject...I have heard Guitar George is George Young, Angus and Malcolms big brother. When I was young for some reason I thought it was reference to Beatles Harrison I didn't get...because his guitar weeps,so gently.

Ooh, maybe add a super short delay to go with the lower octave when using the Submarine pickup to make it sound more like someone's doubling on bass. That could be really cool
