Nice test, thank you. I recently received thr odin 2 mini. The screen is ok, i am not that impressed with it. I was expecting something amazing, unless I haven't properly set it up . I don't think these retro hand held displays compare that well to a mobile phone display. The ghosting and vignetting isn't an issue for me. I just wish Ayn had squeesed in a 5.5 inch borderless display, they could have just squuezed it in .

I think if you're comparing these screens to a high-end AMOLED high-refresh-rate phone screen, then you're probably going to be disappointed. What the Mini *does* get you is brightness ... which isn't surprising because that's one of the miniled technology's big selling points. For a handheld, that brightness makes the screen great for playing outside. For these devices (admittedly, this is grading on the curve), the Mini has one of the better screens you can get in terms of its overall quality - brightness, colors, motion artifacts, etc. But yeah ... a high end cellphone screen looks way better.

@@chemicalburrito782How do you think the mini compares in terms of brightness with modern day cell phones in direct sunlight? My use case is actually in direct sunlight lol. Honestly my iPhone 14 is horrible in the sun even before the auto dimming takes over.

@@TunaTales So it's a hot and sunny day today here at the beach - just for a quick exact comparison I took the O2 Mini and my iPhone 12 Pro outside running the same game in full direct sunlight. Before the inevitable throttling/dimming that happens on the iPhone when it's in the sun kicked in, the O2 Mini at full brightness was still brighter and easier to see than my iPhone. I don't think a space sim or other game that's really dark is going to look good on any device in direct sunlight, but other stuff is comfortable on the Mini.

Hello, in terms of screen alone, that is, without counting the frames, which screen is wider? The odin 2, rg 556 or the razer edge and how much is the difference between each one?

If you're just looking at width of the screen without the bezels, the RG556 comes in at roughly 4 13/16", the Edge at 6 3/8", and the original Odin 2 at 5 3/16". But the Edge has a 20:9 aspect ratio while the two others are 16:9.
