I don't really use repeaters myself there's an app called repeaterbook uses the GPS on your phone and then shows you what repeaters are close by.

Newby question.... I assume this transceiver, regardless of aerial type used, is only good enough to pick up national broadcasts, you wouldn't expect to pick up international traffic?

Hi there your right, it's a VHF UHF, HT with a short service range depending where you are from a couple of miles to maybe 30 miles if you're lucky on a hill top.

I'm going to take an used one without the stock antenna, is it good the yaesu vx7 YHA-64 antenna for Icom-ice90?

hi there any antenna that's resonant for the bands your going to work on the radio should be ok, the vx7 antenna for 2m and 70cms should be fine, I'd avoid using the vx7 antenna on 6 meters and 4 meters.

@@winterblood78 sorry didn't realize that the vx7 is a triband HT so yeah 😁 should work on six on the E90
