how nice of a recommendation this video was! I also like sleeping in a quilt, but only had the chance to do so at -5 °C all layered up. My coldest night yet was around -15 °C, but hat was with a sleeping bag and a winter tent. At some point all the layers around start to become super annoying. Had a bivy situation once where I had a silk liner, Reactor liner, sleeping bag and a bivy bag. When turning while sleeping, you have everything going mad. I found that using a cheap thermos flask works super well as a heat source instead of Nalgene. It stays warm trough the night, but gives less warm at once. What's nice to use as a practice area are cold wells. Where cold air flows into a basin and cannot escape. Maybe you have such a geographic situation in your area?

I remember seeing his video a few weeks back. The part I’m unsure of is what do you when you’ve getting up in the morning and soaking wet, towel yourself off in -20?

I like my sleeping bags! Very nice video, i back yard tested many nights as well!! I use foam pad under my thermarest nxt, used down to -18f / -28c. I do want to switch to a merino wool base layer for sleep though... Boiling water bottles are life!!! 😂😂😂

Great video! You got a good system going. When you get too hot, try pushing the downquilt down and leaving a synthetic over you that will combat the moisture. I was just out at the first night. Went to bad way. Too many layers on and got hot as well. Looks like it's working for you

Thx for this video❤ I Hope to se more videos like that😊 For the drafts. How would it be if you fix the quilt til the padstraps underneath the sleeping pad instead of on the top. I would try to do that. I hate drafts.

You really gave a good test to your setup and the temperatures cooperated nicely as they dropped successively. Did you find your sleeping pad held up to the temperatures of was there significant cold coming from underneath? Cold from underneath is where I'm experimenting right now, especially as sleeping on top of snow is typically the rule in the Oregon Cascades as late as June. Your switch to the island for the final review at the end was a reality jump, but it showed the clear differences between the deep freeze Midwest and the wetter/warmer cold in the Pacific West. I'm in Portland, Oregon, and it's similar weather to the island in our Cascades.

You have lots of good content, but for me, I’m hoping you can speak a little slower. Also, for whatever the reason, your videos aren’t as loud as others despite being on my max volume. And no, I’m not an old curmudgeon! Thanks.
