So I was never interested in PDM Palatine at all! Just the bottle alone made me think it was for a 17 year old!! But a salesman at Saks made me try it on skin. I can see the appeal if you are looking for a 24/7…4 season/365 wear!! Very pleasant, beautiful sandalwood & non offensive, but only at a deep discount!!

So, regarding Blue Madeleine, I don’t think this perfume received the reviews it deserved when it was launched. I think for 2 main reasons: 1) People were expecting something deep gourmand and realistic Madeleines smell- so when they got something different, they felt disappointed. 2) This is more like a Fall scent to me, so it was launched in the wrong season in my opinion. That being said- I love this fragrance, I am wearing it a lot now that is getting cooler and it’s so addictive. It’s office friendly, so it can easily become a signature scent for the fall/ winter. I have not tried Villa Primrose yet- need to sample this one, but Blue Madeline is easy in my top 10 now. Can’t wait to try the 2 new fragrances they just launched.

L'Animale = Guerlain Tobacco Honey to my nose. I do smell a hint of the leather in the drydown. Mostly I get the honey and tobacco in the same way I do the Guerlain.

Jax 😍 the look is extra glam today , love it ...... had a sample first of Blue Madeline bc I'm not a fan of tea in fragrances , 2 blind buy gourmands that have tea aren't loves for me , but this is already a fb❣ , was worried that it was too light wearing . over sprayed it one day and realized it could be too much when over sprayed , love it but can see where the cade oil could be a polarizing component ?? at least I think it's the cade oil ...guessing lol

I'm excited to try Dolce Sonata. I have Maraschino already and I love it. I've heard good things about Glow. Maybe it's time to test out a new house. I also am very curious about the new perfume, Red Keela Split by Fomowa Paris. It's supposed to smell like a banana split. I haven't seen any reviews yet. Was that one on your radar to test? I had your same fears regarding blue Madeline and then I sampled her and ordered a full bottle. The bottle is gorgeous, the gentle wafts of the tea and cookie are so goooooood!!!!! I wore it over multiple days and made a huge dent the first week that I got her which is unlike me because I have a big fragrance collection. I only wish she projected a little more. But she’s beautiful.

MCB is incensey benzoin (rather than vanilla) fragrance to me. The ambroxan makes this feel super synthetic. Great if you don't mind that synthetic vibe though, if you love PDM, BDK, etc, this will probably be a winner for you. I decluttered mine, but people love it. Not tried the other one.

At 2:40 I think Sospiro fragrances are the "new" Xerjoff as far as creative high quality new releases. They used to be sister companies but have since seperated. Xerjoff new releases aren't anything great. I love Xerjoff fragrances but I think they aren't putting much effort into their newer releases anymore.

And as far as the new Parfums de Marly.. they were sold last year so the new releases may not be on the same level as previous releases. I stocked up on several of my favorite PDM fragrances late last year becuase I was thinking the new owners would start reformulating them. 😮

Hi Jackie! I sampled Blue Madeleine yesterday and I will have a bottle of that before the year’s end! Oh my gosh! It’s soooo beautiful! Also I bought Bon Parfumeur 501 Praline Licorice Patchouli. I was smelling everything in the perfumery and I fell in love with it. It’s light wearing and pretty sweet. It’ll be a fun wear on fall days!

Palatine was a disappointment- reminded me of my childhood shampoo but that was $4 not $400. Do you think Glow has better performance than SDV? SDV ends up so faint on me that I have to bathe in it and it still ends up a skin scent. I don’t want it to choke anyone but o also don’t want it to be a skin scent.

Palatine was the biggest disappointment ever. The biggest thing that others don't seem to mention is the absolute Cashmeran bomb that is so dominant and musky, and choking, and just bad. I could Almost smell the pear but i couldn't smell violet or anything good at all. Made me nauseous 😅. Bottle is absolute beautiful but that's the only thing good about it. Shame PDM

I really think the new PDM is targeting the masses not those with tons of niche perfumes. It is an easy wear scent that is likable. It will appeal to those that want something that can be worn at any occasion day or night and tend to have few perfumes but want something new. Clearly you will still need to be in a tax bracket that can afford it.
