Testing Out a New Crypto Arbitrage Trading Tool - Open Trace for Open Ocean Finance

With developing the improved platform, it was clear that the FlashGap crypto arbitrage tool was no longer serving the Wizards. However, the Open Trace idea came about to track the best prices on the Open Ocean Finance crypto aggregator. So far, so good. Although shamefully, I actually lost money on the trade in this video because I didn't think about the gas fees whilst trading only $15. In this video, you get to see the new tool in action and whilst I race to cover as much information on arbitrage, statistical arbitrage and machine learning as possible in a short 1 take video.
The new platform is getting fantastic feedback, but also a lot of improvement requests and corrections on FX for ZScore arbitrage. Nonetheless, it is leagues ahead of version 4.0 currently. More arbitrage and useful tools will be on their way during 2023 and I can't wait to proceed with you all on continuing to make Crypto more fun and interesting without getting bogged down in all the noise during the downturn.

Have you ever thought about creating liquidity pools where investors like me would put liquidity into the pool in form of whatever coin you wanted us to use. Probably BNB or busd because of many reasons. Then basically on a daily basis we could remove or reinvest daily profits based on how much our percentage of the pool was. From there you or your team could also keep a small percentage - which should be lucrative as pool grows

With the Z-score arb trading tool, I can see myself using the binance option to guide trades on GMX/Arbitrum, with their juicy leverage. Any obvious pitfalls there? They rely on oracle data that will pretty closely agree, right?

Tanks for the knowledge. Quick question, wrapping this arbitrage method into a flashloan wouldn't remove the problem of paying too much gas fee or going for an arbitrage that doesn't exist anymore ? Like the fact that the flashloan can't be paid back cancels the the whole process and avoid loosing money ? Just a question and I'm absolutely not an expert in crypto technologies

Hey Shaun, I notice when using the tool to simulate the arbitrage opportunity you have to input the trade amount. Is it possible for the tool to find the most optimal trade amount to get the maximum profit? Is this something that would be added in future ?

I suppose it could be done with quadratics and derivates seeming you want pool1 and pool2 prices to match at the end of the arb (would need to make some sort of equation using res0 and res1 in pool1 and compare with pool2 res0 and res1). Not quite sure how to do it myself but I’m sure many others have figured it out.

The Machine Learning tool can be used to do this. But caution: Predicting direction is notoriously difficult. Predicting volatility etc however, much easier. Happy to do a video on this.

Do the arb opportunities work with over 100 USD buys or in general need to stay in the low 2 digits? I have always loved the idea of arbitrage and cointegration as a way to make money but with so many automated bots out there it just seems impossible to find said opportunities.

Hello, my question would be why would you make an algorithm that makes money and sell it to someone instead of using it yourself (obviously if it's profitable). I do understand by selling it is a 0% chance of losing your money instead of trading. But to me, it looks like if you have a profitable algorithm you would keep it private especially when the more people join the fewer profitable opportunities there will be. It reminds me of a story of a gold rush time when people were making money not by mining the gold, but by capitalizing on the needs of miners and selling them shovels.

Perfectly good question. For ArbScan, It does not make enough for it to be worth my time to sit in front of the screen all day. That said, there are traders who ask for this service and know how to make incremental, albeit small, gains. I never recommend signing up if your reason is for ArbScan. The ZScore and ML tools are user-specific and feel highly valuable. Being an analyst and developer, I simply love coding up these tools and making some income on the side for doing what I love.
