Buy an API service for $1 and sell it for a 6x markup? Sounds great. You got to love the high margin business of SaaS arbitrage.
All in all this would only be a couple dozen lines of code for the backend - honestly maybe less. And if you use WebFlow for the front facing site you don’t have to code anything there at all... .

The basic concept of it makes sense, but a single 1:1 arbitrage alone just won’t cut in the long term (as per the other comments below). The real value add for long term sustainability and true growth is to arbitrate multiple SaaS infrastructures into a single shiny package to deliver something truly new and/or convenient.

@@HUSTLERSINC says who? it is definitly possible but wouldn't bunch up a bunch of features and make the project harder to build, just one feature is enough and done, its possible because there are apis that allows for it to be done in this way and the person who built the original saas would not care because you are still bringing in business, its a win all the way around the board

The basic concept of arbitrage is: you buy low (at large volume) and sell high (at low volume). In case of Twilio, you don’t buy in large volume. What you can buy from them, your customers can do the same and bypass you being the middleman. You don’t have the advantage of a wholesale buyer here. Your concept is as good as a “hello world” example but won’t sell as a business.
@Mark-kt5mh

if you do this, then you're also adding in an extra layer of API calls between the customer and the twilio API. So, one more layer where something can go wrong, if the customer had half a brain they'd use Twilio in the first place.

Interesting take but you already talked about the faults in the beginning, you're selling text messages 7X higher than Twilio retail price. How are you justifying this cost to the end consumer? You gotta somehow add more value. Especially a prospect who is looking to switch from Twilio that may be expensive for them? You gotta offer more value than just the end consumer not knowing about Twilio just take advantage of their ignorance and charge them more, idk man..sounds like bad business.

Helpful videos! I wonder if with these types of tools that you already know there is a customer for it because of alternative services, do you still go through all the phases like market validation, pre-marketing etc? Or is it approach of throwing against a wall and seeing what sticks : get an idea => build mvp in 2 days => buy some google ads => profit/go next

I've seen both strats and they both work. It depends on your goals.. If you want a long lasting and authority SaaS you'll want to really spend time building out and audience and community and premarket and build thoughtfully. If you want quick money that will probably end in a dumpster fire then the burn and churn works too. I've seen people launch 10 startups in a month. Focus on one big thing or 10 smaller things. Its up to you and what you enjoy!

The different types of online arbitrage include Amazon online arbitrage, where products are sourced from various online retailers and sold on Amazon, and retail arbitrage, where popular items are bought in one market and sold in another for profit. To profit from online arbitrage, one can source products at lower prices from online retailers and resell them at a higher price on platforms like Amazon, eBay, or Facebook Marketplace. It involves setting up an Amazon seller account, acquiring inventory, shipping it to Amazon FBA, and waiting for sales. Thorough research and strategic product selection are key to success in online arbitrage.

As a developer I would probably pay for this. I ran a poll on indie hackers to see if anyone else would pay for it, and to my surprise all four responses so far have been “no.” I assume four is too small of a sample size, but in this case how do you know whether or not to trust the responses and pivot to a different idea?
@millionaire-millennial
@millionaire-millennial Жыл бұрын
Well 4 is for sure too small. I'd personally only pivot my idea if I had gotten a large traffic influx from my target market (hundreds+) and didn't get even 1% of them to convert. That's a pretty obvious sign something is wrong. But there could be a lot of things wrong. Pricing, explanation of the product, prodding of the pain point, etc. Experimenting with each is where the hard part is.

Based on the information provided in the snippets, it seems that SaaS arbitrage involves exploiting price differences between software as a service (SaaS) products in different markets. To generate a monthly income of $3,000 by sending text messages, one could potentially explore opportunities in the SaaS industry where price differences can be leveraged through arbitrage strategies. This could involve identifying undervalued SaaS products or services in one market and selling them at a higher price in another market, thereby generating a profit margin. However, it's important to note that SaaS arbitrage typically requires sophisticated software and high volumes of trading, so careful research and understanding of the market dynamics would be essential for success.

Hi, My concern about such a site based purely on the user's unconsciousness of a less expensive solution, is that when he realizes there is such a solution, he no longer uses our service. Our business is automatically not sustainable in the long term. There would be a need to add value to users. This is my vision, what do you think?
