TESTING OUT MY SUN DOLPHIN

As you probably know, sundolphin co. No longer produces this boat so you have to buy second hand. I just picked one up off Craigslist. It is set up with 1 battery in each of the foward port and starboard compartments (1 for motor and 1 for auxillary) and a 10 gal. flat fuel tank under the seat deck. This set up is excellent for weight distribution and balance. It's a 2015 model rated for 15hp so it has a 15hp Honda elec start. Does 28 mph. Also 40lb troller up front. I'm in SWFL also. Went with the small boat in order to access small bodies of water, canals, etc, just like you're doing. Great vid. Thanks

Hello Thad, just saw your vid, nice work, Dude at first i thought you were in a latin rain forest, I have the same boat , with a 15 hp Mercury , and it flies across the lakes here in Georgia, move some weight around and your 9.9 will do better , stay safe and tight lines Bro !!!!!

Sun dolphin makes the Pro 120 that looks very similar but only 11.3’ long, 62” wide and with a 532# capacity and wweights 238#.

How do you think it would handle with 2 250 pound guys? What type of choppy waters can it handle?

One big guy would be okay but not two. It’s not that great with more than a 1 ft chop. Works best for small backwater areas. It’s a little more stable than a 14 ft flat bottom jon boat.

The one I caught the large mouth on is a Duckett micro magic extra heavy. I believe it’s a 7-11 in length. Even though it’s rated as an extra heavy it has a bit of a tip Action. My favorite rod for Jig Fishing

@@thadeusragan first thing i noticed is the give in the tip on the hook set.my abu verilas is a 7 ft heavy and doesnt have a ton of give .i bought it as i didnt have a way to transport a 7 ft ,11, and not shortly after Abu made an 7 ft 11 telescopic that breaks down to fit in a standard 7 ft rod tube.i use mine a lot for fishing topwater. now i'm throwin big worms and missing some hooksets

I have not used the Abu rods. I like the halo, cast away, Kistler, and Duckett rods

I had a 16ft v hull boat decked out and with 3 people on it I got it up to 14mph with my mariner(Yamaha ) 9.9. Your boat should be faster. My boat alone weighted 250 lbs without the deck

That's my home!! The m.f'in Everglades baby!!! Man!!!!! All week I've been looking for a set up and been looking taking bits and pieces of mods from each video....I came across this one!!! There's so many Bass in them waters it's sick!!!!! I've caught 20 a day most days. HOW MANY LEVIES DID YOU THRU?? I've only been to the second part. How far does that lil canal go??? I kayak. Sorry I didn't get back to you on this. I ended up selling it and don't remember what model it was. I know it was one of the bigger ones. I would have to turn it sideways to fit it in the bed of my Dodge 2500

tuck sims It’s a great way for one man to get around in areas where you can’t normally go. It’s got everything you need. Live well, tackle storage area, Bilge pump, lights, I even added rod tie down straps.
