Don’t give up on the air wrap!! There is a learning curve. If you want the curls higher up and not just at the ends, do layers and sections. My hair is similar to yours. I do three layers from top to bottom and then do sections. It’s seems like a lot, but once you get it figured out, it can be very quick.

Nail tech here.. always gotta “rough” up the nail a tiny bit for better adhesion, even with gel polish etc. ( and a good wipe with alcohol to get rid of any of the natural oils on the nail) also always file down the sides, bottom etc for a perfect fit over your own nail. Don’t want them touching the cuticle or sides of the nail bed, water/ moisture etc can get under them and cause mold, and they’ll pop off much easier.
@RachhLoves

That's really good insight, thank you! I got scared seeing my nails are torn up on top because they are EXTREMELY thin and it can get really painful if I mess with them too much

@@RachhLoves yeh, some of those cheapy files are a little harsh. I just do like two sweeps across one way and then two across the other way and make a little crosshatch action with a finer file. Just a tiny bit of roughage. ;) haha! Also come of those press on nails won’t work for a lot of people, I’m guessing you have flatter nail beds. Hence the curved nail pulling on your regular nail... good idea in theory, but meh. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

@@RachhLoves get a higher grit block sander for nails, it works better with fewer passes than a flat file, and there are 4 sides around a squishy middle, it creates less damage to the actual nail, I've done my own gel manicures for several years and I use this method for tips and the actual gel adhesion, they are less that $2 at beauty supply stores, my nails are also thin and those don't tear my nails up or create this spots that hurt, I do my nails weekly or biweekly so I get lots of wear and tear, salons used to hurt me so bad and I only went monthly, since I started doing my own with the block buffers it's made a HUGE difference

I bought myself the Dyson air wrap for Christmas 2019 and I love it … now. It took me a few months of playing with it to really understand how to use it for my hair (which I think is very similar to your hair). So I would say give up and return while you can or commit to keep playing.

I feel like I should just say, I’ve watched so many KZbin videos of makeup influencers trying the Dyson, and every single one of them hated the Dyson Airwrap in their first video. They all said it took way too long, you had to section the hair too small, it wasn’t worth the price for how hard it was and how much time it took, etc etc. And every single one of them had to tell us in later videos that they loved it and it’s the only thing they use for their hair now. Now that’s not to say that you will end up loving it, I’m sure there are still lots of people that don’t like it, but I just say that to say you may want to give it a few weeks of use before you really decide if you truly hate it. It seemed to me that it has a learning curve, so play with it for a few weeks before you really make a decision. Apparently the more you get used to it, the shorter time it takes. As for the nails, they weren’t flat enough to look real in my opinion. When you looked at it from the side, the start at the cuticle and then rounded up so high like it wouldn’t even be flat on your nail. Normal nails don’t look like that. I think it was also too thick. Between the curve and thickness, they just looked fake. As for the foundation, how did it feel? Did it feel like you were wearing foundation, or light enough that it felt like nothing? Love these videos!

Hey Rach! I'm sure the Dyson hair wrap works! However, I feel like for the price point that it should be soooo much easier to operate. As someone who loves nails and can't grow them I used a LOT of press on nails til I learned how to do my own acrylic nails, always buy 2 packs cause a lot of ur nails are the same size and I have petite nail beds so the extra pack does help getting the right size, u need to buff the "shine" or natural oil layer off ur nails so the glue can bind natural to plastic better and super glue works best for a longer lasting and more powerful hold.

A trick I've used for nails before (side note, those are agressive looking c-curves on those press ons😱) is to use an acetate sheet/sturdy-ish clear plastic, to basically make a stencil of my nail shape and size. It makes stickers a bit easier. Place over nail, outline shape, boom: sheet of nail size references.

My curls are insane and I don’t even use hairspray.

If you actually want to give press on nails another go I would recommend trying Red Aspen nails. I have the same problems where 1) most fake nails don't work for me cause the nails on my 3 middle fingers are basically all the same size so the sizes never work out and 2) I don't like longer nails. Red Aspen just updated some of the nails to have sizes 0-14 instead and the sizing is amazing! Actually get good sizes for all my fingers now! They also have a whole range of 'short nails' which are a really nice length. Seriously though if you try them make sure the nails you pick say sizes 0-14 and NOT sizes 0-9

Honestly I like how your hair came out and even how it looked after it had fallen. & I feel like press on nails are always flawed when it comes to sizing quantity.

I couldn't help myself. My child's school winter uniform looks EXACTLY like the green sweatsuit. I couldn't get out of my head someone modelling their uniform and raving how great it was Keep up the great work though, I love your videos.

I appreciate your gangly arms because it tells me if sleeves will be too short on me. I’m 5’7, so a little taller than average, but my wingspan is 5’11. I’ve used your gangly arms as a guide on buying products you try and so far it hasn’t failed me 😂

I agree with the nails. They're supposed to be universally sized to fit everyone but that isn't the case. I have very flat and wide nails. I can never find one that fits my thumb so I quit buying them.

Lmao I had to look up the ingredients on the primer bc I heard "macaroon" and not "maca root". I was so confused as to how/why they infused the primer with dessert

Same. I saw your comment after I heard "macaroon." At first I thought: huh, innovation.

I have super long hair and love my dyson airwrap. My hair is dry and curled in about 10-15 minutes. I even have a brush attachment thats is only for my dog and hes dry in 5 minutes and tolerates it more than any other dryer.

I just want to point out that there are 2 of every size and 21 sizes of nails. What you said are the most common….aren’t for everyone. So saying they should have more of those is like…impossible. AND the size difference is close enough that you should be able to go up or down one size and still have it work. You might gently file the side to make it work. And the curve of the nails is fine, it doesn’t matter and still works. -signed a O&J polish and press on user who is in no way connected to the company other than as a customer and benefits in no way from commenting or posting about their nails which I do often.

Also, buffing won’t hurt your nails. And they actually look VERY natural when applied properly. And maybe they just aren’t for you.

Okay, any other Aussies seeing Rachel in her sweat set and immediately think of prison greens? 😂😂 Love you Rach, but if I wore that in Aus, I’d look like I’d escaped from jail! 😂

Oh I knew the Dyson was gonna be a fun one. Lol. As someone who has had one for a year, it takes a lot of practice. And no matter what is said on TikTok, the hair DOES NOT go into the rough dry attachment

When you modeled the sweatsuit, I was confused by your ring light in the background. I thought it was attached to the back of your chair and I couldn't figure how you weren't hitting your head on it when you were sitting down. Lol

Have you ever tried any farmacy skin care products? I’m trying to improve my skincare and makeup routine. I love your honesty and how you speak about products. I trust your input. Also I’ve been going back and forth through your past videos, would you ever do a video with your current favorites for makeup and compare to some newer items to see if your favorites still prevail to get a good idea of what you consistently prefer to use.

I also did NOT like my Airwrap at first. I wanted to sell it 😂The thing I learned is that you have to really play around with it to see how it works best with your hair. Also, the more you use it, the quicker it gets!

You have to file the sides ( sidewalls) down so they look more natural. Also, you need to apply them closer to the cuticle.
