@ellisch.81337 жыл бұрын
Yeah they look really great, but you know how many lipsticks need to be produced nowadays? Way more than back then , also the packaging would cost more than the actual product nowadays, cause metal is more expensive and it's also rarer than plastic... And it's better for the inviriment (don't know if I spelled it correctly)

Makeup was much more sheer and less full coverage (the barely there concept with lots of bloting and dusting away excess, you never wanted to look like you were wearing makeup)... vintage make up took into large consideration your undertone. So colors often looked completely different in their containers verses on the skin. If yellow and blue make green your product may look super blue until applied... giving you a green once on the skin with the aid of the yellow in your undertone. This is why it was soooo important to know your season when picking out your colors... wrong undertone wrong color pay off! Today with all our full coverage makeup, concealer, correctors and primers... We blank out much of our undertones and makeup in the package is much closer to the discribed color and can be used by different undertones more successfully. Great video, thank you for sharing your vintage buys in such pristine condition... a real treat💖💋💖

Old makeup contains heavy metals (arsenic, lead, mercury) that are really bad for your health, the pigments used wasnt produced correctly (Lisa Eldridge explains in her channel on her video about vintage makeup). It is very very dangerous, please don't do that anymore. You are ruining your skin and health doing that. Most makeup have a exp time and the vintage ones had no technology on them. Im sorry about my english. Im Graduated on Makeup, and i had classes on biological security of makeup!!!
@chunkynerdet18027 жыл бұрын
Victória Becker she never said she used it just that she had it/collect. makeup today is not much better a lot of it is bad for your skin and some of the anti aging cream has been proven to have bad side effects. it's just way harder to get things pulled off the shelf in USA then putting it on a shelf.

I remember going to my great grandma's cabin as a kid and going into her old make up room & she had this big thing of old, vintage, beauty products including make up. I snuck a thing to carry around with me because I loved the smell. but she would get upset because a lot if it actually belonged to her mother my great great grandma) her brother threw everything away after she died.. it's really sad because the house was actually built from my family (my great grandpa's side) & it had so much vintage stuff there. I felt like I was going back in time when I would visit. we would explore the huge property & the (very) small town and actually find arrow heads. I miss those days very much. I wonder what people 75 years or so from now are going to think about our makeup... "So back in the 2010's people were really into unicorn themed makeup, drawing dark lines all over their face to make it look slimmer and more defined, making themselves glow like some sort of celestial beings, putting jewels on their lips and eyebrows and basically anywhere on their face, dyeing their eyebrows, and for some reason they were obsessed with someone called 'Kylie Jenner' and her lips."

Especially mascara can cause BAD infections. Sure you can use powder a bit longer than the bb-date but with creamproducts you realy should stick to the expireing date. My porefessional just went bad. It smelled a little funny but i didnt noticed cause i had a flue and my nose was clogged. My skin got pretty irretated and i had a massive breakout on the areas i used it

@lore_nza7 жыл бұрын
Only God knows what chemicals are these products made of. For example, in the early 1900 (right after radioactivity was discovered, between 1896 and 1898), companies were advertising radium and uranium based face creams saying that these chemical elements have good properties for the human skin. The problem is not actually the expiration date of the product, but rather the ingredients in it (which may have archieved bad effects throughout time, too).
@alphaotaku347 жыл бұрын

@Ashley-nk8nk7 жыл бұрын
Hey Stephanie, I highly recommend doing research on the topic. Depending on the formula, makeup can actually be very moisturising for your skin and can cause minimum to no damage, but that's beside the point. Makeup has expiry dates, and for a very good reason! When makeup goes out of date, bacteria grows much faster. Bacteria has been known to cause pink eye, bad breakouts and even cause blindness! But also, old makeup contains extremely harmful chemicals. Makeup back then contained extremely toxic ingredients like iodine, arsenic, lead and even radioactive material. Unfortunately many women had developed cancers and other type of deadly diseases due to their cosmetics and aren't alive to this day. Please stay safe, and be extremely cautious when trying out vintage makeup. Avoid vintage eye makeup and never use the face products on a daily basis.

@whitneyhouston1875 жыл бұрын
Camilla Johansson sad that you think feeding a child in public is something to be looked down upon. it is how so many children are raised and that’s how they have been raised for century. i think you look down upon it because you feel grossed out about boobs and nipples and it’s really sad you feel that way. the fact that boobs are sexualized when used to feed a child is absolutely disgusting. i really think you should stop “looking down” on something that is natural and will always be natural. society always has a way to shame things that have been natural for centuries such as armpit hair on women, breastfeeding, etc
@belladonna59045 жыл бұрын
It is gross if you live in this society. Unless you are being extremely discreet. No one wants to see nipples when in a restaurant.
