Yeah honeybees are undergoing colony collapse but due to beekeeping the honeybee pop is actually not decreasing. It's the bumblebees which are endangered and need conservation. So yeah. Support beekeepers, buy honey cause they're supporting honeybees. But also support all pollinators cause otherwise we're screwed. This has been science fun facts =)

seconding this! Additionally, most honey is produced from the Western Honey Bee, which is a specific species of bee that is not endangered because of their use for human honey production. It is native bee species (particularly ones that do not produce honey) that really need the extra support, and you can help them by doing things like planting native plants in your yard/ garden

It is! Bees produce more honey than they need so taking some doesn't even inconvenience them. Bees being looked after by beekeepers are safer and better cared for than wild bees - their hives are protected from predators and diseases and they have a constant food source. Buy and use honey, especially from local and sustainable producers!
