@OurLifeInTrees18 күн бұрын

@ryanhansen83124 ай бұрын
Thanks for the videos! A couple tips... Use more of an angle and less flat plane when hooking up into an attachment. Also, you can used the level planer to scrape driveway weeds as you might a hula ho. And after using the leveler at an angle to scrape, with properly dry conditions you can just blow the silt, weeds, etc and have a really nice finish, of course rain will help if it comes in after your done.

Ok awesome. I will try that. I like the weed scaling idea.

The reason your videos are great is because you’re an average dude. I’m a regular homeowner and definitely not a professional operator, it’ll be trial and error for me as well. I’ve run wheel loaders, skid steers, and played around with excavators, but these minis are different! Mine is in production, and Dean sent a picture of the “lock nut” for the track tensioner. So definite progress. Your subs have been going up quite a bit, good for you… I appreciate this venture…
@OurLifeInTrees4 ай бұрын
Thank you! I tell people I have a KZbin channel, and they always ask about what. Then I tell them it’s on mini excavators and mini skid steers. They look at me like I’m nuts every time. Haha. I explain that any old operator can make instructional videos, but what about just some average joe who have never used one? I mean, honestly, you can buy a fancy zero turn mower for more than I paid for this mini skid. The draw, I think, is what it’s like for a non-operator operator. lol
@Antiphon434 ай бұрын
Agreed. Some of the stuff you do is “sketch”. And please don’t hurt yourself, But definitely have fun with this! An older operator that was training me always said, let the hydraulics do the work, the drive system pails in comparison. When you drive into a pile of whatever, use the hydraulics to “drive” in. Not the actual drive system.

Good morning!! I really like that mini skid. It seems a lot more robust than the others I see. Also, I've been researching the Kymron brands and they seem to be really close, as far as capacity and build quality, to the Bobcats and Kubota's. I would get one, but I'm really concerned with customer support. I'm looking forward to joining your forums!

That’s all exactly what I thought too. So far it seems to be correct. The bobcats and kubotas are definitely better quality than my Kymron mini excavator, but you get what you pay for. This mini skid seems to be high quality. Kymron also sells this same one with their name on it.

French drain that driveway! I just filled similar trenches... Several hundred feet. It helps to use one track and run it up and down the trenches, repack, repeat.
@OurLifeInTrees4 ай бұрын
With a heavy rain, would a French drain help with all the sand washing over it? I assume that it would run right over top of anything these besides a physical barrier. Good call on the trench filling.

That machine needs a float for the leveling attachment. If your ground isn't already flat, it's not going to be. The machine is too short and bouncy to do a good job.

Did you have this shipped directly to your house or did you pick it up at the port? Lots of stuff to clear and manage in southeastern Oklahoma. If so what port did you go through? Trying to see if this is worth it with all the customs and stuff! I appreciate any response! Thank you!

Hey neighbor! lol. I did the DDP shipping option. That means you pay the seller and he delivers it to your door. I don’t have a forklift at home, so I had it delivered to a forklift sales and service place that loaded it on my trailer for me. No customs, no broker; no port for me. Where in SE Oklahoma are you? We have a place just east of Talihina.

Seems to have very little ground clearance, that front metal panel looks to be only a couple of inches above the height of the grass, so not really a machine that you can use on trails or in the woods... any unremoved rocks sticking up, high middle hump ATV paths, tree stumps or fallen branches/trunks decomposing into the ground making ridges, etc., just looks like asking to get high centered, or just not possible to get there in the first place. Bummer.
