Brilliant. For anyone who would like to investigate their past trauma's and take the step that Mastin Kipp is talking about, I would highly recommend Jordan Peterson's Self-Authoring program. I completed the past program, and it makes you delve into your past in ways that you have never done before. Since completion, 29,000 typed words later, I feel like a new man.

Loved, loved, LOVED the last half of this interview. The first half seemed like Mastin was jumbling too many different ideas together, but then he fleshed things out more clearly towards the end and I agreed with so many of his ideas and beliefs. As a believer of God and someone who wants to create an all-encompassing approach of helping people excel in spirit, mind and body, I couldn't agree more with many of his teachings and instructions. Excellent interview. Thank you Mastin and Tom!!! Keep up the wonderful work.

Tom you are part of the force that is changing my life! Thank you for taking the steps to making your vision possible. It is a process, but everytime I watch an episode I want to stop and just focus on that interview because that guest brings it! And you also get the energy going in the right direction with extraordinary intros! Then I watch someone else, and start to see how many people have become or rather are becoming the best version of themselves. A blind lawyer, a bank robbing neuroscientist, you even had the guy who hosted the show reading rainbow. I can hear the three note phrase transition musically after the kid would share their reading selection. Great memory. Is there a Dwayne Johnson interview? I'm sure you have already thought that. You should consider having a series where you mentor someone to the point where they achieve their goals, as you study and guide them. Maybe a year of time. Before and after. I believe in your vision. Once I return to social media, I will definitely share your work. We rise together.

I love that by what you are saying, you confirm emotional abuse is just as destructive and trauma producing as physical. Obviously there is emotional trauma that goes hand and hand with anything physical - but when you have had your heart torn into fragments by your parents simply through they way they treated you - it is really hard to show scars on a heart V's a visible one. Thank you Mastin - you make me feel like I can legitimized what I experienced as a child - that then brings admission - and admission is the first step to know there is a problem - and by seeing a problem you can at least find help to work it out.

Oh my living gosh; WOW. What Mastin said at 17:55 about patterns and taking failure personally just caused an INSTANT paradigm shift; like wow. Also I'm so down with the idea that people don't need to be made into something else, but need to be helped to really be themselves again. And his ultra practical conceptualization of emotional health is EVERYTHING in general, and it's also everything I've been struggling to explain about my depression. So much gratitude for this amazing talk. It felt too short. Gotta get his book now; I have a feeling I've encountered this at exactly the right moment in my life.

Wow. Thank you for this interview Tom. It really spoke to me. It reminded me of an old memory. When I was in high school, we used to have religious lessons. One day, the teacher asked us whether we believed God was real and what we thought about eternal life. I surmised that Humans would become eternal once we would know and understand EVERYTHING collectively. Of course, my teacher dismissed the idea entirely and just said it was impossible. Of course, my idea was a little bit raw, but I felt in my gut when I said it, that I had just blurted out an absolute truth. I was 15 at the time. What Mastin said about AI just reminded me of that story I had forgotten... I'll read the book, there is something very interesting for me here...

NOTES (typical doctor vs functional doctor): When you have high cholesterol or have pre-diabetes (very common), most doctors will just give you insulin or Metformin for diabetes / Statin for cholesterol and tell you you're good. Functional doctors would instead say: Why do you have high cholesterol? Why do you have pre-diabetes? ....and would start to look at: -Sugar levels -A1C levels -Fatty liver -Microbiome -How much are you producing neurotransmitters? -Do you even have good bacteria in your gut? -Do you have heavy metals? -Are you eating enough fat to fuel the hormones that are necessary to live a healthy body? There's Integrative medicine, functional medicine, these are sort of the same names for the same idea and what they do is find out why is your body having this chronic issue and then they give you a prescriptive method that will help you identify and heal the root cause rather than just suppress the actual symptoms

I've never heard me him before, or heard him speak. I will have to look into him & his theories a little more before I make up my mind about some of his ideas, interesting though they are! I always 'dive further in' to the guests that you have no that intrigue me (although I am still amazed by Jamie Wheal 😊) in order to further understand their viewpoints & ideas. Sometimes I move away from their ideas after researching, other times I try to apply their teaching/lessons etc to my life, their are some guests that you've had that I have immediately thought 'Wow, yes!'- as far as this episode goes, my jury is still out yet.
