@Brian-Outdoors4 ай бұрын
I agree with Burt and Adam about the Stihl 500i. I own 12 saws 6 of them Husqvarna XP saws and because of all the hype around the 500i I had to have it. I think people mistake good throttle response with the fact that the 500i has a hard time going really slow to align up cuts to finish a cut when you first touch the trigger. It is like it gives it half throttle when you touch the trigger making the tip jump. Not a fan of that and the horrible job it does with clogging up the air filter. I am a fan of the looks, the speed of cut and how nice it is to clean it up after a job. The side cover is small and well designed. I love not having to choke. The anti vibe is good but I feel the Husqvarna’s are better.
@BertsCustomCuts4 ай бұрын
The 500 would be an okay saw for bucking logs not dropping trees.

Good looking bunch there. I havn't run a Stihl in many years. I run Echo's now. My first new saw was a Stihl in 1980. Then I got Jonsered. Never got back to Stihl. I lost faith in Husky because we do not have a decent dealer in our area. A good dealer makes the equipment. I think O could like an Easton made Axis. I split 2 rounds with one at the Bunyon. I would like to spend a day with one. Fellowship is always a good thing.

Having Chris Adam Mike @ KNL to your Wood Yard That was Enjoyable to watch, The EastonMade Axis is the best vertical Splitter on the market if your doing bundle wood, boiler wood, Working on your own Tree Service Wood, you Can choose the Size Splits you want and it Produces better wood then the ultra 12-22 you had in the past, 22-28 24D 37D, You can stand up Straight when splitting wood with out putting stress on your back,
@TonysCoolTools4 ай бұрын
For me vertical splitters are the way to go. May not be the fastest but I can split longer because I’m not bent over. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
@noelstractors-firewood574 ай бұрын
Great splitter. But, I don’t like the way the wood kicks out at you when the wedge comes down and try’s to split the piece. I know not a big deal, but as I’ve said in other videos instead on flat plate for a table why not checker plate. It would give the wood something to grab to as the pressure from the wedge comes upon on piece of wood getting split. Just a thought.
@TonysCoolTools4 ай бұрын
Noel there is a learning curve on positioning wood on a vertical splitter. If you notice a lot of horizontal splitters have a checkered plate and it still kicked out the wood. With practice you learn to read the wood and position properly. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT

The Extended reach Bahco are by far my favorite tongs for reaching and moving bucked up rounds that are in piles. The Reipal long reach tongs are my 2nd favorite but the handle is a bit short for my hands. If the rounds are on flat ground and easy to reach the LogOx or Pinch-a-log are great options as well.
