I am interested in a 2.2 kw spindle as it would run off of 220v and I have 2 circuits running in my garaage a 110v and a 220v. This way I could keep the spindle circuit off of my regular circuit and not bog it down. So please offer a 220v option as that is what I am waiting on before ordering.

I have a smallish shop. Can the AltMill be mounted vertically on a wall? Is the Y axis able to support the weight of the gantry without adverse degradation of acceleration values?

While it is possible, however, but would be quite involved and might require some sort of counterweight to avoid the motors back driving when everything is powered off. Any other questions, please reach out!

Yes, Gsender can be programmed to work with ATCs. We are still working in-house on validating the functionality so it's still a work in progress until we fully support it though. Thanks for asking, any more questions, fire away!

The large 4.5kW unit is about 30lbs - definitely not something you’d want to mount on a lighter duty machine

OK, that's impressive hogging on maple? wow~ Not being a user/owner at the moment, that seemed like some serious capability that we see on a $20k plus door machine right? And how did the bit sound? It was singing, but it was a push test, not something I've imagine ever doing personally, So yeah, overkill spindle, but that middle one is singing to me for sure if for nothing else than accuracy, strength, power and actually, less electrical use vs output with 220 for sure.

Bigger is always better. But I can’t think of a need for my purposes to have such a powerful one. I guess I’ll stick with the midsize even though that is not needed either.

It’s a bit too soon to say since this is just something we’re testing, but likely closer to 1/3-1/2 the cost actually!
