the " Glidecoat Marine Shine & Shield " you can pick up at a wal-mart I think. ( just to try a simple hydrophobic wax ) there is also " NeverWet " which specializes in Superhydrophobic coatings, ( apparently claiming some degree beyond hydrophobic ) and they have a whole product line that is talked to different applications.....and NeverWet does state Marine applications if NeverWet's claims are on par, you could pump, then glide, then, pump, then glide...it's difficult to say the interval, but it would be something like that.

Can somebody make a video of the pump foil community in Zurich and her dock? It’s a great example for other places in the world, which can help boost the sport.

my time is very limited and I live quite far away, but I guess the community is so strong, because we have many sportive people in Switzerland who have no ocean to play around and due to Indiana there is strong local connection. Most communication of the community is runnning through a whatsapp group. I would say the more people pumpfoil, the more people see and want to learn it to. Where are you from?

I have followed your whole pumpfoiling journey! Well done! I stayed at day 2 myself but will bring my home made pocket board with me to the Walensee. And my sails. I am also a follower of WakeThief. How cool is it that you 2 got together! And amazing to know that inventor Todd of Beta foils, has pumped his foil for 2.5 hours! It will not be EZ to break that. Thanks for your honest review, your praise for his version and the reasons why you like the Gong Sirus. I saw in the drone footage also a SAB Leviathan? What was the general opinion of the pumpers?

I feel really honored that you followed my whole pumpfoil journey. Thank you for being such a loyal supporter. I hope you soon get ahead of yourself as well. Don`t give up. The beginning is the hardest, then it get`s better day by day. You saw a Leviathan? Then you saw more than me. I only saw Axis, Naish and Indiana. I would really like to try the Leviathan, but so far I don`t know anyone living close by. Concerning Beta Foils, I guess for the beginners it`s really hard to appreciate the potential for it and the advanced all invested quite much in their own equipment and are happy with their equipment. Unfortunately, I spent most of my time testing this thing without talking too much to others.

thank you very much for your feedback. Do you think it would be fair to pay royalties? On the one side, it was their idea and it was genius, on the other side everybody should be able to experiment with two masts or more... I guess I would be more against. I think competition would be better for all of them...

It definitely would be fair. The designer obviously a lot of time and money to develop that idea and should be rewarded. He would be extremely generous to just give away rights to use his idea to competitors

@@FoilingPastor If you look online you can find plenty of other twin strut foils. There's a US military document from 1964 talking about testing twin struct hydrofoils. "Foil number 7 is mounted on a twin strut combination. All the foil models..." There are plenty of boats with twin hydrofoils (see the last few America's Cup boats). I don't know if this would be patentable, there seems to be plenty of existing examples of similar foils.

Thank you for your information. I talked about it, because freefoils say that they have a patent pending. I have no idea how high their chances are and I don`t know much about patent claims. @@TylerKaraszewski

yes, one guy pumped surely longer than 10 minutes. I guess, two or three days more and I could also pump more than 10 minutes. It just takes time to get used to it.

@@sergionunez6426 yes, it floats quite well. Otherwise it would be almost impossible to go pumpfoiling with it more than once😂

wow wakethief in der schweiz war bestimmt ein geiles event. Ich würde so gerne mal verschiedene foils testen hast du schon mal den axis png 1310 probiert ?

extrem cool, gibt es nochmal nächste Woche wohl. Habe leider weder den Axis, Leviathan und auch nicht den neuen Indiana getestet bis jetzt. Aber ich habe das vor und sollte es diesen Herbst mal schaffen.

Ich hab den und er ist speziell. Man braucht eine Weile, bis man sich an den Pumprhytmus gewöhnt hat. Und man sollte den Stabelizer shimmen (zumindest hab ich das gemacht).

@@FoilingPastor Mit dem Shim, den man sich ausdrucken muss. Der ist vorn an der leading edge dicker und verringert damit den Angriffswinkel. IMHO trägt das der Tatsache Rechnung, dass der Angriffswinkel des 1310 ebenfalls von Natur aus etwas geringer ist. So jedenfalls meine Theorie.

In der WhatsApp Gruppe der Zürcher Pumpfoiler schon, da die stark von Indiana geprägt ist, wurde es bekannt gegeben. Die haben das auch mit organisiert. Soweit ich weiss, gibt es sonst nur noch eine Möglichkeit am Neuenburgersee nächste Woche das Foil auszuprobieren. Ich glaube nicht, dass sie noch nach Deutschland kommen.

Ah... I think the steering is bad because of so much sweep back on the foil design from the mast.

they are still working to improve the design, so maybe at some point they will bring out the updated version of this...

Has anyone put the Beta Foil on a SUP? Having a foil SUP that you can more easily pump is really the dream... not being able to water start is what really makes the current implementation a no go for most people.

great idea, so far I haven`t seen anyone, but would be curious how that might work out. Do you only imagine it for flatwater foil paddle/up or for downwinding? I guess downwinders will be very difficult to impossible due to the massive frontwing and double mast
