You can tune it with the screw on back. I think you can get 5 to 6 full turns...clockwise. should bring it up a little bit. Trust me bro, no body want to get hit with that. Great video

1:41 Spot on, never trust an EDC that you have not personally tested and fired first.

I also must ask that you redo the test if possible using two separate CO2 cartridges as you are using two different weights. If using two different weight but the same CO2 cartridge, the result will be off as the CO2 will be reduced with each shot. Giving each weighted rounds it’s own CO2, will result in true numbers. Nevertheless, based upon these numbers, I like the 7.5 gram aluminum rounds over the 5 gram Nylon/steel because the 7.5 gram results in 11 joules whereas the 5 gram results in 9 joules. You get slower FPS, but the energy carried down range is retained with heavier rounds.

Excellent video. I love to see the numbers behind the ammunition being used. And you’re absolutely correct that the courts will see this in the same category as a firearm particularly if serious bodily injury or death results. This why I’m cautious when it comes to modifying these LTL weapons. Modifying these weapons beyond original development proves intent to cause injury or death. Thus for the life of me, I cannot understand why people are so hell bent on taking a 7 joule weapon and turning it into a 30 joule weapon. I’m guilty of doing the same by modifying my weapon to increase the muzzle velocity. No other way to look at it. But I also know never to draw my weapon unless deadly force is being used against me. Of course I’m also smart enough not to draw my weapon on someone who has a firearm. Make sure you know the laws of the state you’re in because if you have to use these guns, you better make sure you’re within legal rights to use it.

That's one of the reasons I decided to go with a Byrna, there's really no modifying them (at least with kits or parts sold aftermarket) to make them more powerful. I have an SD on order, can't wait to try it. I know if I had bought a Tipx or one of the Umarex, I'd be buying barrels, valves, etc to make them stronger. And some of the aftermarket ammo (Devastator type ammo) I couldn't imagine shooting at someone out of a performance modded launcher unless you wanted to badly injure or possibly kill someone. So to me, keeping it less than lethal- the Byrna is the one to go with. I still think that even though it may be the weakest of the LTL launchers, it's better than empty hands.
For the past 7-8 months you can indeed purchase and use Pepperball rounds in California as long as you've taken the BSIS Chemical Agent Certification exam through Byrna. They worked with the state to allow California residents to take the exam and once passed, you're allowed to possess and use the chemical rounds for Self Defense.

@@Joreelare you sure that is still legal today? I'm in California and a security guard card online website told me that with absolute certainty, pepper projectiles from a co2 launcher are illegal.

Those results are why I shoot aluminum rounds. You get the higher velocity from the less-than-5 gram round, but the hard hitting impact of a metal "bullet."
