When the pandemic hit, I needed a webcam, but even the cheapest logitech ones were over $100. So I bought an Akaso Brave 4 for like $80 and after playing around with settings it's SO much better than most dedicated webcams these days, even the ones that go for quite a bit more. So unless you're using one of the fancy over $200 webcams, I'd say the Akaso would outperform it. This is using just the USB cable and no need for batteries as the cable feeds power to the camera.

The BIGGEST DRAWBACK for most webcams is the almost obsolete USB 2.0,choppy frame rates and freezes above 20fps.
@KalamazooEAS4 ай бұрын
I bought a Brave 4 about 6 years ago. Love that thing. Came with a lot of accessories and the USB webcam feature was a bonus.
@gitnjur2 ай бұрын
@@gilmoreskeen1234mate USB 2.0 is not the reason, usb 2.0 can handle at least 30mbs. Standard 1080p 30fps video consumes 10% of that even 2k 60fps isn't an issue for usb 2.0. The reason old webcams are so choppy is mostly to do with them not actually being able to record stable footage or most often horrendous af motors in them.

I'm one of those 7k that bought the Akaso. I don't use it outdoors, I use it indoors. I have it on a mount on my sewing table and use it in my streaming setup. In webcam mode, it has a lot less features. But as a webcam it's not bad, I do wish the image stabilization applied as my sewing machine does cause vibrations in the clamp mount. For my needs, honestly, it's great.

I have been in television for 29 years. I was in the analog to digital transition and several complete editing suite revamps. As a video creator I was constantly looking for thibgs , such as plug-ins to create retro looking 8mm footage. The plug-in did somewhat of a decent job but I still vouldnt find the look I was after. One day I bought obe of these 1080p ( not even close) cameras off of WISH. They really are crap. However, the do provide the exact look of an old camera. I used a couple of filters to add a little over exposure. The sightly overexposed look and lack of image stability made the perfect retro beach scene that looked really close to 8mm film from the early 60s. These "fauxPro" cameras are perfect if you're ever trying to build that look without having render times. Try it, you will be surprised

Great video ! I my self own a 56€ Action Camera and while i finally have a Canon EOS 1100, it still is fun and a generally good camera. There's no stabilisation on it but it can do time lapse (wich looks surprisingly amazing). You just have to not accidentally set it to "narrow" POV as the anti fishing lens just crops the image and you get less quality. I have posted a clouds timelapse short. Thanks for taking your money on these products and review it for curious people or people that want to start photography as a hobby. I got my DSLR to expland my amateur Astrophotography, wich teached me too alot about how cameras work and how to use them (as in astrophotography you tend to use a dedicated camera (essentially, a overpised sensor with q usb port built for astronomy)

If they get really interested I would buy them better kit as they get older. Edit. My cheaper Akaso V50X (which I use where there is a possibility of the camera getting lost or damaged or when sound quality doesn't matter) developed a fault in the 2 year warranty period. After a quick exchange of emails. including a video of the fault,Akaso posted out a replacement as soon as I sent proof of postage for returning the original. I can't praise their customer service enough.

I got the 4K version of that camcorder to test for Vine, and it's actually pretty decent. The only real problem with it is that it requires a MASSIVE amount of light. The sensor must be really small. If they put a better sensor on it, it would be a great camcorder. The advantage of a camcorder over a mirrorless/DLSR is unlimited recording time. A mirrorless/DLSR has a maximum of 30 minutes per video, but a camcorder will record continuously until either the battery dies or the SD card fills.
