Would love to see what a diffuser sheet would do to the par spread. If you could break it up and spread it might be worth it for a small or backup light.

Bought two 54watt of these lights to fill the side's of the tank. swapped the white leds out for more royal blues and 2 cool white. 20,000k instead of the red and green. Then a separate power supply so there's not 240 volts over the tank. Cheap safe solution for adding extra par over the tank corners.

Genius level idea. Would be great for hitting those tricky shady spot in some reefs.

I tried 2 from Amazon Aquaknight which is now called LXQIY which I had for 1 year. Surprising it did the job, but I didn't get much growth but it looked nice, kept my corals alive and tbh I recommend as a budget first time light for a nano 2nd one from Amazon was the lominie reef light, more variety in lights and did the job, but didn't grow my corals that much..but again, a good light for nano tank beginners.

Random brand Amazon lights... lets see they tell you how many watts each LED is rated at and that equals the wattage of the light (check), other brand lights that use the same exact graphics as them (check), other brand lights that use the same exact copy and paste description of it (check).... yup sounds like your typical sold from mass distributor Chinese manufacturer and resold by "importer" That said, maybe you remove all but 1 or 2 of the white LEDs, and yank the lenses and it won't be so obnoxiously and a bunch of them may work over a tank... but problem not. The Kessil A80 it was compared to as power is NOT a bright light at all and I'd only use that over the tiniest of nano tanks.

Id be really worried about the internal components in a super cheap bulb like this given its higher power requirements, this is a chinese electrocution or potential fire hazard just waiting to go. I really would would beware about buying something like this, is it really worth burning your house down or electrocuting yourself to save a few quid on an aquarium light? I'd always go for an external driven LED that I can seperate the potential hazards,something like this is just screaming short circuit. Theres no way this has been safety tested to any sort of standard
@ChrisSmith-ts8tw3 жыл бұрын
On top of that your potentially running 240V through that metal enclosure if something goes awry
