I got a tablet from Amazon looks exactly like the $42 and paid £19.99 about $26 and although it worked fine after a month or so and a few apps applied it soon came to a halt and has never worked well even after a reset. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for.

You should try the Trio Stealth GI 7 Tablets, they are slow as hell like 3 - 6 minutes to open the youtube app and stuff. :P

Your best bet is to buy a used Nexus 7 2013 16gb on ebay. It still kicks ass, even if it's really showing it's age, its way better than these for the same price. You get that gorgeous high res screen. The damn thing was probably subsidized by Google as a loss leader. If I remember correctly, benchmark score around 32K, or twice these..

720p for $42 is actually good and it has android kitkat, most applications only need android jelly bean, sooo I think that's a relly good deal, mybe it's not really fast but it's okay for lil' kids or something. BUT: The last one is the best for someone who want to play lighter games or something, and the screen is good , photo's too. Soooo I think that one is the best.

Bro I bought a nook hd roughly 2 years ago and it's great. Okay you can't game on it, it's only 2 core and the gpu is weak but it will playback 1080 with no problem and it's tough. It's suffered and survived a Doberman (looks at name) and yes you need to flash it, but I put Lineage still rom on it and I've extended its life. PS1 and below emu is no issue, I play Aurcus on it all day and it's got quite good sound. But best of all us it's 1440x900 240 dpi screen. For my £50 I can't complain, I actually bought a dual os cube iwork 10 tablet and still use the nook often. PS the cube has such an amazing keyboard it's better than a surface or many tablet keyboard combos I've used. Shame about the cpu but you get stat you pay for and at £160 for a 1080 windows 10 tab and keyboard I can't complain.

My main tablet is a Alba 7 inch 16GB and you can only get it from Argos which is a UK store. It’s only 50£ and it’s a great purchase. It runs android 7 nougat so quite new software and its quite fast.

I’ve been using an iPad Air 2 for 2 years. It’s fantastic. The screen is great and super sharp, it’s super light, there is a big variety of cases and accessories, great speakers and runs well on iOS 11 despite how buggy iOS 11 truly is. It really is as good as the iPad pros and it’s a shame Apple discontinued is for the heavier and worse “new iPad”
