About 6 years ago I bought an air powered die grinder off wish for $15usd, it came with a dozen different bits, different size chucks etc. I thought it'd be worth a laugh but no, it's worked flawlessly up until this very day! It gets used multiple times a week and I'm still amazed at how damn good it is. Wish is full of crap but once in awhile, that crap is accidentally great 😅

@@allio3459 Yeah, that jack seemed good for people that might have some mobility issues or older people. Even to use those cans of tyre sealer to. I've seen a lug nut remover that you put over the wheels, but you could carry an impact gun, though those repair kits in a can are quite good and easy to use. Cheap tools are best when you just want to use something once or twice and will probably not use it again in 5 years.

I was gifted the 198pcs tool kit from one of my friends after I moved away from home to join the navy, and I have to say, while some of the pieces' handles have fallen off and I have to shove them back on, it has been great to have. I've used it to replace radios, door locks, window motors, and wheels along with other small maintenance around the house. It may feel cheap, but I've put a beating on those and they've lasted over 4 years now

For plasma cutters, if you disconnect the air while the machine is on, some machines make you restart it. And often times, if the consumables on the torch head aren't tight enough, the machine will also not work until you tighten them and restart the machine.

My dad got me a tool set like the one in this video (but smaller) when I was a kid and started to get interested in tools and cars. We were renovating our house at the time and I felt so grown up to be able to bring my own toolset out to do the little jobs I could help out with. When he knew I was responsible and wasn’t going to lose or break anything, he let me use the good stuff. I kept the toolset in my closet for years, it was convenient to have to hand for any quick jobs in the house without going out to the garage/truck. They aren’t great, but they have their place at times.

I could see the $10 impact being decent for like a RC car/boat hobby, also realllly wish they took the case off the plasma cutter to see if it was faulty or just a full blown scam.
@quillmaurer6563
@quillmaurer6563 2 жыл бұрын
Perhaps, feels a bit big for that. I think it would be good for light-duty work, not the high-torque stuff you'd want a good impact for, but as a convenient tool to use instead of a manual socket. I have a similar (supposedly) plasma cutter (is blue rather than red, but looks similar and has "CUT 50" written on it) and it does work. Not all that powerful, but that's because if I turn the power up too high it pops the breaker, not it's fault. With a higher-current or 220 outlet it would probably be awesome. Really wish they'd given this stuff more a chance, I feel like they were prejudiced by the price. Maybe they should have tested the stuff before hearing the price, not after. They should change the order of this, instead of look at, guess price, hear price, test, decide to keep or trash, they should look at, test (thoroughly with real expectations), guess price, hear price, decide if is worth that price or not.

Shame you guys didn't open the plasma cutter to see what was inside. Considering this came from Wish I wouldn't be surprised if the only thing in the box was a case-fan, some wires for the light in the switch and a brick that was glued on the bottom to make it feel heavy. 😅 Also, you have to check the shipping costs as that's where these companies make their money. Like they charge you $30 plus $90 in shipping while they pay next to nothing to ship via bulk container (which is why it usually takes 2-3 months for stuff to arrive).

@sirbrokenlegs2074
@sirbrokenlegs2074 2 жыл бұрын
That's what i was gonna say. At our shop we do just the thing, use the small impact to secure the wheels to the hub somewhat, if you weren't brave enough to do a few quick zips with the full-sized air impact, lower the car then torque 'em. I love using that Makita DTW251z, a quality tool that works like a charm. And then to have that 10$ thing do just that, yea i'd actually buy it. If something's got big torque, i'll break it loose with the breaker bar, and use that cheap piece of shit to do the rest aside from torquing them down. Of course i'm not gonna expect it to last for years, but i'm sure i'll get at least some of my money worth out of that thing. People buy a lot more useless things for even more expensive than 10$.

I'd find it useful for a lot of things. Not heavy duty stuff I'd use a real impact wrench for, but light-duty stuff you'd use a regular socket for. I'd personally use it a lot. I have a corded impact wrench, which is quite useful but a bit of a hassle to drag the cord out for it, so if only doing light-duty stuff I'll typically stick with a socket set. This could make such work go a lot faster, a convenient but not capable tool.

My experience with these sorts of products is that they DO work, but they have almost no durability. Need it once? You're fine. Need it a hundred times? Maybe get your tools from somewhere else. EDIT: Also, sometimes the factories in China produce name brand tools, then produce the *exact same tool* for another brand. All they do is change the stencil and box. That's probably why that sander they used was comparable to the Bosch sander they showed - it IS the Bosch sander, just with a different name.

@@shadypalmtree2989 It's very common in grocery retail. Having worked in grocery for over a decade, it's become pretty easy to tell which products are rebranded brand names. For example; most grocery chain's store/private brand 24 pack drinking water is actually Deer Park water. It comes from the same exact bottling plants, on the same exact bottling lines, using the exact same water. The line doesn't even stop to change labels. Each bottling run let's say a thousand Deer Park branded bottles are filled, directly followed by a thousand Kroger branded bottles, then Walmart etc etc.

@@shadypalmtree2989 I doubt it is a Bosch. Don't be fooled by the color. Tack Life is owned by Aukey. Tack Life/Aukey used to sell these on Amazon, until they got caught using a paid reviewer service to place fake positive reviews for their Tack Life products. At the time they were selling them on Amazon, you could find about a half a dozen of the identical same sander being marketed under different "brand names", each with a different color. This is the same identical sander being sold at Harborfreight under their Bauer name, which are Red. If anything, these are just re-badged Harbor Freight tools.

Agree - not suitable for "heavy duty" stuff like a good impact, but a very convenient light-duty tool. Not a replacement for your Milwaukee impact, but - at times - a faster alternative to a ratchet. I'd totally use that if they gave it to me, I have a corded impact I use sometimes but the cord is too much bother in some cases so I just use a ratchet - this thing would be great from a convenience perspective.

As a handy but non-professional guy the most useful advice I got when it came to tools was: start with the cheap stuff, and when it breaks replace it with something better. I'm not a carpenter or contractor using this gear daily. Every year I might do a handful of jobs that need specialized electric or air tools - unless I'm using them every day, the cheap stuff is still going to last me for years even if they wear out way sooner than the professional grade. Anything I use enough to wear out quickly, I replace it with something mid or upper grade. The things they "trashed" here would still all be worth holding on to if you didn't have anything better, and using until they failed.
@shaneh7519
@shaneh7519 2 жыл бұрын
I partially disagree. I guess it all depends on how much you would plan on using it, but even the average homeowner would probably use something enough to make it worthwhile spending a bit more on something that will last all your life, instead of just a few years. You don’t even need to get the super expensive shit, but why pay 10 bucks for an impact that might last a few projects when you can pay 80 bucks for something that will actually last. Buying something you anticipate will break is stupid and wasteful. In both money and now you’re contributing to more junk being thrown into landfills

I have a supposedly similar plasma cutter (looks similar, says "Cut 50," but is blue) that works reasonably well. Can't do a lot because if I turn up the power much it pops the breaker, but that's not it's fault, if I had a higher-current or 220 outlet I bet it would do quite well. They gave up on it way too quickly, should have troubleshot it a bit. They were ready to declare it junk as soon as they heard the price, didn't give it a fair chance.
