Sweat piece of equipment. I not long ago heard about scroll compressors and I got curious about them. Now I feel like this is the air compressor I've been longing for. So quiet and so a good air flow per minute as well. Thanks for making this video.

Beware on the new compressor. There are plenty of oil problems. It works great on paper, but in real world, the life span is about 6 months.

Only if you don't drain it regularly. Higher humidity needs more draining and need to run a moisture control device.

It's been a year, would you still recommend this scroll compressor?

I've looked at that compressor for a while now, but more and more of my air tools are being replaced by battery driven Milwaukee M12 etc... My other issue is floor space, it's a much larger footprint than my current vertical setup.

wonder how this compares to a california air tools compressor, they're piston based but still quieter than most

I had one and its a lot of work to keep them going not cheap you half to buy their oil and filter and water filter. i could not keep oil out of the tank. i also think they don't have enough cooling fan on them they get hot.and the filters if not changed often are under pressure and they will bust and blow oil all over the shop. that was just my experience. wish you better luck than i had.

A few questions if you don't mind. Have you had any issues? I've heard of oil problems. What size wire and breaker are you using? I'm super close to pulling the trigger on this but the price and the fact it is so new has me nervous. Eastwood is usually great stuff, but some of their tools are of Chinese origin and are basically remarketed Harbor Freight quality. The noise and low amp draw ( I think their site say 10 amps @240v) plus the fact it's somewhat portable makes me want one bad. I'm getting into some body work at home and have been using an old Craftsman 2 stage 30 gallon I bought brand new 21 years ago, coupled with a 60 gallon tank. I don't have enough air to keep up with a DA or an HVLP, looking for a quality upgrade. Great video and thanks for the noise comparison. I was looking for a real video of it running and you delivered! Great job 👍

My other choices are the TSC Ingersoll Rand SS 4L5. Or pony up for an American made Quincy with a Baldor motor.

Sure, happy to answer them. We haven't had any issues with it, and it's plugged into a 30-amp outlet. So far it's been the best compressor we've ever owned.

The air doesn't go through that radiator. That radiator is to cool the oil. That lubricates the bearings and scroll.

It"s great how your mag has succeeded from back in 1970's. The best in MHO. But products you "hawk" is often far from "grassroots" so I imagine you get a good discount. [and yea I'm envious] My compressor? A 220v two stage I bought used at a auction back in 74 for $230 [big $ back then]. Will it put out air, probably more than the scroll. Is it noisy? yes, which is why it sits covered outside my shop. Repairs? none, just yearly oil change and keeping the water drained from the tank. Thanks for a great mag! I'll keep fab-ing instead of buying.

After less than 2 hours of runtime, my QST blew the start capacitor

Yep! One year later it’s still working perfectly. We love this thing.

Isn't the max PSI only 90 on that imported thing from Eastwood? Stick with a low RPM Saylor-Beall if you want quiet and long life.

I believe that’s an oil cooler not an air cooler

Stay away from the Eastwood 30/60 scroll compressor it’s ridiculous high maintenance and expensive as hell if it’s not maintained it will break and you will be out of an air compressor. If you need a portable high quality compressor look into on board battery compressors for your work vehicle. Oasis is the best on the market it’s not cheap but it’s worth the money unlike this Eastwood Scroll compressor

Run away from this air compressor all bad not even a year and mine it’s dead off to scrap yard
