The Spirit is a short shaft. I was sitting further back to get shots of the screen, but the Spirit Tiller does tilt up a bit also although it doesn’t lock in the up position. The eLite was in it’s longest configuration. It could be moved up two steps, but might have put the prop too near the surface.

This doesn't surprise me. I owned a Spirit 1.0 Plus and used it on an Achilles inflatable and maxed out about the same. Anything over half power was negligible. I think that with motors of this type that dinghies are always going to lessen their effectiveness. You have to use brute force with 6-10 hp motors to overcome the tubular drag. I really like this new eLite but that low range and no optional use of an external battery is a big downer.

What was the shaft length of the Spirit vs Elite in your test? It looks like the Spirit could benefit from a taller transom for better tiller arm clearance for your knees especially due to how long it is. I like that the elite has an adjustable height tiller arm and it’s shorter.

The Spirit was a a short shaft. You can run an Xshort on the Takacat but you should then use the accessory anti cavitation plate to avoid air being sucked into the prop at full throttle, which makes a slurping sound in my experience

It would be interesting to compare the Epropulsion eLite against the Thrustme Kicker.

We’ll set that up👍

@@skybluadventures4649 any progress on this? These are the two I'm considering. The thrustme has the slight advantage over the elite at the moment as it's 1000W versus 500W and you can use an external battery pack with the thrustme to increase range.

When you kept increasing wattage with no increase in GPS speed, did it ever occur to you to find a speed reading that would give you, like, one decimal place?!
@skybluadventures46497 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for the comment. I’m not sure I understand the question, but generally we do these type of test based on the output of the motor since it will give you a reference to how long it will run at that speed.

I think that point is to have GPS speed meter with decimals, so you can see clearly difference, like 2,3 Kn @ 50W or 2,7 Kn @ 100W etc. Best wishes!

@@VladimirMatvejev_Riga Thanks, Vlad. Otherwise the dude is trying to tell us that there is no speed difference between, say, 50w and 100w.

@@skybluadventures4649 Maybe switching the GPS settings to km/h (or m/s if available) will give you a better speed scale resolution. Seems like 300W is the sweet spot for this setup (dinghy+outboard[torque&prop]+crew)

Is it possible to change the batery of the elite?
@skybluadventures46494 ай бұрын
@@ferfos8829 The battery is fixed on the eLite. It cannot be changed.
