I've got a fit series Aiken from 2010 when they just created the model. That bike is ready to go tomorrow for sure! Poverty parts - tripple walled both front and back rim. It would awesome to see this revisted!

I ended up deciding on the Odyssey/Sunday setup since the sleeves were pretty cheap and had all the lengths I was looking for. :)

I remember odyssey parts in dans comp magazine! I used a bunch too. Hah there is nothing that can come between a man and his bike. I firmly believe this

Thank you so much! I am still on the same pegs and am still loving them. Sleeve change here and there, cheap sleeves and easy to find. :)
@Wellunknownbmx4 ай бұрын
In terms of how they slide it’s kinda hard to judge because the ledges tend to break in over time, the more you grind the faster they slide. You did 30 feebles before even getting to the odyssey ones, I wonder how would the eclat slide if you gave it another go after all of it.
@DouglasThompson4 ай бұрын
@Wellunknownbmx definitely, you would need perfectly dry ledges all the same concrete consistency and finish to super accurately test but you can tell a lot about how soft a plastic feels. Density and such.

Do you think i can run my Merritt gfe's "naked" i'm kind of bored of the plastic
@DouglasThompson4 жыл бұрын
Ya man! It will significantly decrease their life but ya, I have run them naked with no issues.
@supernoobsmith57185 жыл бұрын
Nice test. I bought Kink Drifts for park use. 4.4in and 3.7oz. Concrete will wear through pc in minutes, if that.
@DouglasThompson5 жыл бұрын
Ya, you definitely need to bring a tool to rotate you pegs if you plan on riding concrete for a day. I really like how the pladtic protects things I grind. :)
@supernoobsmith57185 жыл бұрын
Well, the skateparks are smooth. It's the reason I bought 4 plastic pegs, just so there can be no complaints at the park. The concrete I meant is the rough stuff on the street which I don't really ride. I'll mostly grind coping and steel ledges. There is a marble smooth skate plaza near me that I didn't even want to touch with steel, but I know will not get messed up with the plastic.

You can get the Merritt pegs in a black sleeve now that's see you test the oss peg and the zia pegs and the fiend and the cult pegs curious on the wear to see who would win
@DouglasThompson5 жыл бұрын
I might give them a try. If I do, I will definitely record it.
@m4aw3sum5 жыл бұрын
On some shit pegs are a waste they don’t sell replacement sleeves for em and the plastic is super fragile only upside is that it comes with wax can’t say about the other 3 though
@ericisabadbadman39785 жыл бұрын
How are the aluminum core pegs?
@DouglasThompson5 жыл бұрын
They are great! Only downsides are they deform quicker and they make for a harsher feeling grind since they dont have as much flex. I had to re-drill the holes for the pegs since you have to tighten them down so hard so they dont slip. When you tighten your pegs down a ton it slightly crushes the portion the bolt/nut mounts against.
@jakepeterson31266 жыл бұрын
So are you going to keep the Graduates or pick up one of the other pegs?
@DouglasThompson6 жыл бұрын
I am going to keep the other pegs but for now I see no reason to switch them out... The Graduates are imo the best long plastic peg at the moment. The Venom is just very limiting feeling, the Merritt is too tight to fit some tools and the Slider is impossible to change the l Sleeve without a hammer (and it feels short compared). If I had to choose from the 3 I liked least, Id go with the Merritt, it slides good, low profile and really holds your dropouts.
@jakepeterson31266 жыл бұрын
Douglas Thompson that's cool! I really like the Merrit ones tbh, i like the slim low profile look to them.. Also, if you can, try the Shadow Slide or Die pegs.. i swear a long time ago i ran them then gave them to a buddy and i believe they're still being used...
@necap48875 жыл бұрын
i had the merritt gfe in 4.75 and after a month on all my 4 pegs the metal ring popped off and you could slide the sleeves of by hand when the pegs were on the bike, goin' back to steel #steels'real
@DouglasThompson5 жыл бұрын
You should try the graduate/seeleys.
@cozmics11916 жыл бұрын
i was thinking about getting plastic pegs but if i want grind something i will lol so i have always run metal pegs because they dont wear down basically at all, but i have heard plastic pegs slide better do you think the swap would be good or not thanks :)
@DouglasThompson6 жыл бұрын
The biggest reasons I like plastic pegs: 1. They damage property way less 2. They are quieter for riding street spots. 3. They let you grind wood/aluminum surfaces much easier 4. You still have a steel or aluminum peg underneath if you choose to run it naked. Reasons I dont like plastics: 1. Higher maintenance 2. More expensive Id say if you ride street or skateparks where pegs are shamed. Plastics are the route to take.
@m4aw3sum5 жыл бұрын
CozmicsHD you can emulate the feel of a plastic peg with PVC pipe go out buy the right diameter based on your pegs and try em out for awhile this will let you test plastics without sinking money into a set of new pegs

What tool do you have?
@dannyboyvlogz4 жыл бұрын
@@DouglasThompson a normal 17 from Home Depot husky brand
@DouglasThompson4 жыл бұрын
@@dannyboyvlogz that might be a tight fit, especially after the peg gets damaged. Luckily these are steel pegs underneath the plastic so they won't deform as easily. If you're hard on your gear I'd recommend getting a dedicated Bike Tool. They are many times slimmer then a regular socket and the Merit Peg especially is very tight. You'll probably be fine for at least for a good while
