My living room has terrible glare at all times during the day because of the window placements and design. I bought this TV a few weeks ago, and frankly, it almost made me sick to spend this much money on a TV because I am not a big technology guy or audio/visual guy. However, as soon as I put this in my living room and watched it, all regret went away. It is amazing how it has zero glare and how good the picture is.

Finally got to try this TV at the store... and I'm underwhelmed. I really wanted to purchase this TV because I had amazing discounts but I guess I will wait another year. There is noticeable blooming on this TV which takes away the OLED charm. Plus side: brightness and colors are outstanding. reflection handling is superb and way better than what you see on videos. Blacks are still black, but not in a good way. The blacks looked kinda depressing to me for lack of a better word.

I think this video was very informative and entertaining, and I appreciate the narrator’s honesty and humor. He made me laugh when he said he was skeptical about the matte screen because he had seen matte screens on devices before, and they always have this grainy texture and just doesn’t look as good as a screen with a glossy finish. He also made a funny remark about the magic or voodoo that Samsung is implementing on the QD OLED. I wonder what he will say when he gets the TV in his space and he can do more in-depth testing and comparison. I can’t wait to see his next video.

The reason I never got an oled was because of the lack of brightness paired with the reflections. I have garage windows behind my couch and I needed a brighter tv to counter all the light. Now I can have an oled which won't have blooming at night and I can still watch at 5 or 6 pm when the sun is still out.

I have it. Everyone talking about contrast is missing the point. The tv looks even better than a glossy screen in a dark room, because you cant see yourself in it. If it raises contrast to eat up a bright light...are you guys saying you would rather see the light in a mirror? I am in a light controlled room and can see absolutely everything in my LG CX screen. My silver cupholders in my seats are just..always there. I feel like everyone is running with a narrative and thinking the tv actually has worse contrast lol. This is samsungs fault as they do not share any information with consumers, whatsoever. If you are thinking the tv somehow has less contrast, you are wrong. It is an oled. Will a very bright light get absorbed by the screen and make blacks appear lifted so you arent distracted by a mirror? Yes. But that doesnt mean the tv has less contrast somehow. When all tvs are side by side in a dark room, there is absolutely no negative side effects of the samsung screen. It is infinitely black and looks incredible, while i can still see myself in the CX. Even in a blacked out room, the samsung has advantages

I’m looking still to get the A95L but I don’t know if the stock will still be there when my room is finally renovated . While the matte screen was making me hesitant , I think my biggest gripe is Samsung gatekeeping there new processor for the 8K TVs . Do I really want to spend all that money while knowing I’m buying a tv that isn’t seen by the company as a flagship …idk … But most importantly I’m glad you’re back ! I have a QD OLED and WOLED, and for some reason the QD OLEDs just don't have the same deep contrast as WOLED. Maybe because they are not as glossy? Idk. But I would've actually preferred they go glossier for 2024.
@TaylorCFP
@TaylorCFP 6 ай бұрын
I agree. I had both for a minute, and ended up returning the S90C and keeping the G3. There’s just more depth to the image in a quality WOLED, especially with MLA. Partly due to the inkier black levels. I’m surprised this doesn’t come up more often in reviews and comparisons.
@IntotheFurther.
@IntotheFurther. 6 ай бұрын
It’s because woleds are not capable of handling near black so they just crush the low level blacks in the image. So you lose fine detail and get an inaccurate picture. Things that you’re supposed to see in the shadow detail will just be crushed to pure black on a woled and give the ILLUSION of better contrast. But in actually it’s just a horribly black crushed picture.

Can you please hook it up to a receiver enable CEC and see if it turns on the receiver with the TV remote. Because I have 95B and Yamaha 2050 and it switches the receiver on after 2 minutes by then the TV has changed the sound to TV speakers . The only workaround I've found is switching on the receiver first and then the tv... which is troublesome. It's a whole problem with Samsung TVs since 2020. Would be helpful .

Samsung sells their OLEDs with either QD OLED or WOLED screens; you have no idea which one you are getting when you order one. It's basically a screen lottery. That's why the TV packing box just says OLED rather than WOLED or QD OLED because you could get either type of panel and then not be able to sue Samsung for false advertising. They did the same last year on the 83" S90C. This year, it's on the majority of their panels. It's real scummy and one reason I avoid this terrible company. Not to mention their TVs have junk build quality and reliability compared to Sony and LG.

Its funny how Samsung & LG are working in opposite directions. Samsung is actively working to SCATTER the light coming from the screen for "anti-glare" properties, while LG is doing the right thing by adding MLA tech that takes light that WOULD HAVE BEEN scattered and focus it out of the screen into the viewers' eyes! The ONLY place the matte coating/tech should be used is in Samsung's "The Frame"..... I saw that thing in person and it IS impressive (although i'd never wanna use it as an actual TV for movies, its really good for showing artwork that honestly looks like a painting on a wall) Samsung....
