I had the same experience with the Iwata NEO. I went through cracked nozzles constantly. I got so frustrated. Then I got a GSI Creos Procon Boy and the difference was night and day. The Procon Boy is my #1 go-to AB. Super easy to clean and maintenance.

Is that Iwata NEO you had trouble with one of the not-made-in-Japan brushes? I have been thinking of a .2 or .18 brush lately, among the candidates, another Iwata.. one of their Micron series. My other Iwata, a customized .5 siphon bottle type has been bulletproof, as has for that matter, my Barbatos Rex special edition Gaahleri that I use with the fan tip. Please elaborate the troubles you had.
@decadentdave
@decadentdave 2 ай бұрын
@@jenniferwhitewolf3784 it was the Iwata TRN2. I discovered after many nozzle cracks that Iwata nozzles are made from a cheap copper alloy that can weaken and crack when cleaned with alcohol or windex, not stainless steel. It’s no coincidence that Iwata sells replacement parts at Hobby Lobby. They’ve quite a racket going. Also the rubber gaskets crack and deteriorate if cleaned with harsh chemicals. I was constantly trying to reseal the gaskets with beeswax. Not to mention all of the nozzle clogs. I’ve never had any of these issues with my Creos in 3 years of using. Their nozzles are stainless steel and the gasket seals still as good as the day I had purchased it and withstand all chemicals from acetone, mineral spirits, lacquer thinners, windex and isopropyl.

A couple guys already touched on it so I’ll be shorter (and more polite) than most of the others. Try the MAC valve wide open, overthin the paint (@70% thinner) and dial that pressure down way down to about 10 +/- 2 lbs and you can get reeaaalll fine lines. I do freehand Luftwaffe mottling in 1/72 that way and it works like a charm, better with lacquers than acrylics. Now on to Maiden. Nothing against Blaze but Bruce Bruce coming back was what saved them from fading off into nowhereland. Adrian coming back brought their “balls” back too from a guitar standpoint. And it was real cool of him to say he’ll come back IF they don’t sack Jannick. I saw them in PHX two weeks ago a d the show was better than I expected. If they head your way you have to go.

Bewtween the NeoEco SJ-83 and the Gaahleri Mobius .3 I haven't a need for anything else. My Infinity CR+ is still my favorite but the Mobius has become my daily driver. Pro-Tip: You only need to remove the air cap for extreme detail, I recommend to never remove it unless you are painting faces on miniatures or need real detail work like a 1/72 plane cockpit instrument panel. Aside from that the cap will not hold you back with general modelling paint work, even panel lining. I see a lot of folks destroy their needles for no reason removing that cap as if it makes them paint better. It's a situational use thing, but the cap should always be on the rest of the time.

Good Video Sir, I hope your wife and furry friends are doing better as the days go by. I wish I could buy this but my monthly checks won't cover such a cost but the price isn't bad for a well detailed product. I think by now Mr. Hobby is a well known for their products doing very and above. I am waiting for that thinner and paint primer sir I hope you got enough lol, they seem to sell out within hours of the same day and then waiting for the next batch to come out. I wish we could preorder this stuff so it lets them know how much to make and then make extra to keep in stock. Might be a something to discuss with them moving forward. Dream Theater - my favorite song was Pull me Under. I felt connected to that song when I 1st heard it and boy it well put together with the music. Pull me Under I am not afraid. Gosh not sure why I don't have that song on my list now that I think of it. What about Dangerous Toys? Ever listen to them and their early days. I listen to a lot of metal bands from around the world now and gosh I wish I had learn other languages over the years so I knew what they are saying but at least now I can learn what the words means and says.

@bobclark5479 there may be the smallest piece of dried paint inside, if they tested the airbrush before shipping. Also, is it a screw on nozzle or compression fit? It may not be forming a perfect seal in between the two. I doubt this is the case if you have changed it and it still was only the .3 vs the .5, but just another option I wanted to mention.

@jasondixon2828
@jasondixon2828 26 күн бұрын
@bobclark5479 it almost must be damaged, either a small crack or just flared out from the needle hitting the nozzle. You can try some bees wax on the nozzle threads to eliminate any other option. Chap stick will also work if you do not have bees wax, but I would only use chap stick as an absolute last resort.

While I appreciate the work it takes to produce videos just about every day, I also see the value in providing correct information. As someone who was once starting out and understand the frustrations with and airbrush, correct information is vital. The PS771, is a detail airbrush as you stated. It is not at all meant to spray pearls and especially not meant for primer. Those paints are way too thick to attempt to spray thru a nozzle that small. Also the "M.A.C. valve" is not for adjusting the P.S.I., it is for doing a stippling effect. Totally different. Closing the valve actually raises the P.S.I., not lowering it. The P.S.I. that tends to be used with an airbrush like this, or a very similar Micron is extremely low. As in 6 to 8 P.S.I. This allows you to get right up close to your work, within 1/8th or a 1/16th of an inch. This allows the paint to be delivered extremely slowly, thus letting you create some amazing detail. The head system on the 771 is designed to be removed to be able to clean the nozzle. By removing the whole system you do not have to attempt to remove the nozzle, by far the most delicate part of the airbrush. This greatly reduces the chance of causing damage, which mostly happens when removing or installing a nozzle. I am not posting this to be an asshole or anything of the sort. I am simply trying to provide information that was very difficult for me to find starting out, which lead to many, many frustrating days. Unfortunately, I do believe that some of the info is going to lead to others going thru the same things that I did. As I stated at the start, I do appreciate the work that goes into how frequently you are posting videos, but I also believe that is a cause for some not fully reached information being spread. This is just my opinion but I believe that more researched videos would provide much more benefit to your viewers. I feel that even creating less videos would overall be much more productive to your subscribers. I hope that this is not coming across the wrong way, as I am attempting to demonstrate where my thinking is coming from. I apologize if this comes across any other way.

@IXr4-ORS 2 ай бұрын
It does not come across the wrong way, you are lost like many other airbrushers, in the airbrush specific world. The other importent part of airbrushing is the paint, not just the quality but also the veriety, which this youtube channel showcases a lot. New paint technology is a reality now and keeps improving, giving you more options. If a new airbrush can't keep up then they become overpriced picture drawing tools for limited paints. I prefer a real world airbrush. I would like to see airbrush companies stating their atomization scales on the packaging, if they are brave enough. So far I have only see one company doing that. I don't want a colourfull etched H&S, I want an airbrush with a nozzle that can highly atomize 20 different types of paints.
