Great review, you saved me a ton of work. I was considering multiple cameras on my newly purchased pdl Kayak. Routing of wires, multiple mounts/poles. I appreciate the links provided and got the kit with the extra battery. Also got the 256 G microSD memory card. Less things to worry about, less things to go wrong and short. I’m using the Insta360 One R. I like it because it uses all the go pro mounts so I can put it on my chest or swap the lense out to the 5.7k wide angle in just a few seconds.

I have this cam, bought it off Facebook for 20 bucks. The lady tried to sell it but couldn't. I feel bad. A scratch on the lens the first time out. I feel sick for ya bud. Nice editing. Once you get the editing down its fun almost. Good luck out there. I will check out your other vids.

Just FYI, with the 1x2 (or the go pro max) when you have it on any kind of pole or mount, you want to have it set straight in line with the pole. That way the camera can edit out the pole and really make it look like a drone. Notice the difference in the motorcycle shot where the 3/4" screw kept it in line and you see no pole vs the kayak shots where the camera was pointed straight forward and the pole was angled in towards the boat and you see the pole.

Battery question TJ. I need new battery for my kayak. Was running 2 and want to go with 1 for a day of fishing. I will power a Lowrance 7ti and the micro power pole. Hope I also won’t get any interference running both to same battery. Looking at the Dakota 23ah.

Kayak fishing is exactly what I'm waiting to get one of these for. I'm holding out, hoping a future version would have loop recording and voice control. I think the new Insta360 One RS has added that in it's last version. What was you experience with battery life and memory card size?

I was able to get over three hours of recording with this battery and that was a constant recording in heat. I’m using a 64GB microSD card but I do plan on putting a much bigger one in I also plan on setting this up to a USB cord that is constantly plugged into my kayak for all day power

I have the waterproof enclosure for the Insta360. Would be cool to see some under-water shots. Of course, the Coosa river is usually pretty murky, so it might not work that well here in AL.

It’s voice activated, I can turn it on/off , start/stop recording, tack pics… all just by saying a command. The battery life has been good so far, several hours.

Yes you can but be aware it makes it even less waterproof. One solution I've found is to get moldable silicon putty. Plug in your cable and mold the putty liberally around the port. It'll help with heavy splash and what not but not submersion

Yes it can. But you have to make sure you don't get it wet. Water can intrude into the internals when the port is exposed. Ask me how I know lol Get some moldable silicon putty and mold it around the cable and port to help with water intrusion

I filmed over 3 hours in the heat with this one battery. And it had juice left. I do plan on setting my X2 up so that it’s plugged into my kayak for all day power.

@@KayakUSA1 I do that too but it will overheat and shut down. Have to give it time to cool every once in awhile. And don't get the aluminum chassis. In direct sunlight it cooks the camera. The plastic GoPro frame works best for direct sunlight
