Glad you're doing and feeling better. As for an idea for junk drawer under the seat, I have a 4 1/2 inch deep Dewalt tool box with a clear lid. Works awesome with 10 individual compartments.

I have the desalt 2 drawer for my under seat storage. The Plano terminal tackle storage container fit in there perfect so everything stays organized. Dewalt also sells a single drawer that is deep and also works perfect. I have a Hobie PA14. Only down fall is I can’t lower my seat to the lower level. If you want a system to hold Plano boxes then look at the one objective set up. I did the one objective setup in my center hatch, I like your idea and I’m sure it was a lot cheaper. Keep putting out the content, really enjoy it.

Maybe use Kydex and a heat gun to bend up a Sun shade for the Garmin, trim it up with a Dremel. Also thought you could do a split drawer underneath your seat with a junk drawer on one side and a spot for the Plano box on the other side.

Glad your feeling better. So for the 3D printing have you tried ABS. I use ABS to make my bait mold templates and they hold up WELL. The templates are used to make a negitive in green sand they I pour Aluminum to make the mold. The pounding on the green sand to pack it tight and they hold up to the abuse.

I'm not familiar with your particular model of sounder but other Garmin sounders have some threaded screw holes at the back, specifically for screwing in a sun shade. Check it out, if there are screw holes there you would just add some tabs to your sun shade and screw it into place, as I did with mine. No more worrying about warping.

Nice video!:) .. try to get a 0.6mm Nozzle to your 3D printer. u cut print time with ALOT! :) I printed a sunvisor to a Lowrance 7 Elite Ti with 0.4mm (6h22min) but changed to 0.6mm and cut 2h print time with same settings:)

For my visor I went the easy and inexpensive but effective way. I took some scissors and cut 3 pieces of thin white plastic for the top and sides. I sanded them first so I could paint them later. I made the sides more of a square shape with rounded corners instead of triangle shape like yours. Then I connected the sides to the top with Gorilla tape or duct tape so they could hinge freely. I added velcro to the top piece like you did but also added velcro to the bottom of the sides (but with a horizontal strip at the bottoms instead of vertical so I could move the bottom of the sides forward or back which would raise or lower the top visor as well.) It also allows me to quickly detach the right panel and swing it out to operate the buttons a lot easier then attach it right back. The square shape of the sides also gives more shade. I cut the top piece of plastic longer and used a heat gun to bend a crease at about the middle point so the back part would angle down to cover the back of the fish finder too and keep the sun off it and keep it cooler. I painted it to match my yak (Vibe Seaghost 130, identical to your old one, same color and all.)

Glad to see your back on your feet. These were some great ideas and I would personally go with a junk drawer instead of the Plano boxes. All my tackle is in the waterproof Plano boxes and it does get kinda annoying trying to open and close all 3 latches.

You can print that sun blocker with PETG. It’s a stronger material and more UV resist than PLA! Glad your feeling better!

put 2 2600 boxes on top of each other on 1 side then have 2 drawers for quicker access next to them. i dont know how much you used your drawers but those waterproof boxes can be annoying to open if you are constantly getting in them.

I'm running the Craftsman Versastack 2 drawer system under my vantage seat of my PA14. It fits perfectly and works great. The existing buckle/strap even secures it in place. A few buddies have bought one for their pro angler after seeing mine. Check them out! Lowe's has them on the shelf

Craftsman’s versa stack, you can modify it to be one big junk drawer by cutting out the individual slots. Fits under the seat well also

You could drill a hole in the bottom of each side and run a small profile bungee to lock it in place? Love your videos and what you’re doing btw. I added trip smith because of your last live video when you said you watched him. He’s a lot of fun also. He was taking all my request while he played his guitar on the skiff… it was a good time. What infill %, did you print your shade at, and how many walls? If you have just a stock ender3 or something similar just use PLA+ from ESun or polymaker, they have a bit higher temp resistance. I'd also think about just rattle canning when done to keep the UV off. The velcro on top should help that. There are more advanced plastics that will hold off UV but the cost for a project like that just isn't worth it IMO. Junk drawer wise, a lot of the NUCanoe guys are using the Craftsman versastack 2 or 3 drawer systems.

@@KayakUSA1 Yea 80 should be fine on something non structural like that. I just wonder if the constant heat exposure going higher would be better. If you use Cura as your slicer 99% infill is a LOT faster than 100% and I can't tell a difference when examining layers.

I use ASA filament for all of my outdoor/Kayak printed stuff. It is very similar material to ABS, however in my experience it is much easier to print with and has higher UV durability.

Problem is most starter printers can't print ASA. It requires super high bed temps, and even a stock ender3 would couldn't keep up at the high end of nozzle temps. Also, in something long and thin like this warping could be a big problem.
