Good video, Paul. I see that the bucket still has new-looking paint on the inside. Nice tractor.

Thanks. Yes I hated to get it dirty but that's what it is made for. Since we got a set of forks a couple years ago we seldom use the buckets.

If you spoon feed that hole you will be for ever start at an edge and push it in. That’s how to move a pile not scooping it
@southernadirondackoutdoors Жыл бұрын
You are correct! This same area had holes dug by prior owner (excavation contractor) that I believe he got sand from. A number of years ago I filled those holes in as you describe...more like a bulldozer. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!

That stump dump will be visible for decades as it slowly caves in over time. I did the same thing like 15 years ago and it needs bi-annual attention it seems. I'll never do that again. Understand that sometimes you don't have an option. Certainly it's a last resort if anybody on here is thinking about this as an "easy" way to get rid of stumps.
@southernadirondackoutdoors Жыл бұрын
I don't mind. It's out of the way and we always have more bark and slabwood from the sawmill as well as the extra dirt we can throw in. I don't mind burning relatively dry slab wood but stumps will smolder for days and my town's burn permits actually exclude burning stumps...not that any locals pay attention to that 😆 Thanks for watching and participating!

I see you got the chapters figured out! One thing I've learned, and this is more for digging instead of scooping, having teeth on the bucket makes a HUGE difference. That and having enough traction/weight..... lol
@southernadirondackoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I actually did both, auto chapters and manual to see what would happen, thanks for the help. Funny you should say that, I've been thinking about one of those add-on tooth bars.

Good video on the tractor review , I have the tym 574 tractor same size as your kubota. I added a work box to the back full of concrete blocks for extra weight . Works like a champ. I did a video on it. Thanks for sharing. Take care and be careful.

I'll have to check your video out. I knew you had a TYM and I checked them out but the closest dealer was an hour and a half away. Thanks for watching and commenting!

why don't you spread your back wheels out ? they appear to be set in as close as possible to the machine , Page 7 in your operator manual under SAFE OPERATION , then on pages 101 and 102 show you exactly how to do it , it is very easy to do just takes a little time , also are your back tires filled with ballast , as much tip as you had , I am guessing not . and you should have your bucket lower to the ground while moving and dumping , with it so high your pulling a heck of a lot of weight off the back of your tractor , bring your center of gravity down..
@southernadirondackoutdoors5 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tips! Yes, the dealer filled the rear tires with fluid.
@TheOldJarhead2 жыл бұрын
Do you have ballast in the tires? I've got 'beat juice' or whatever ever it is the local place used that wasn't calcium (which is corrosive) and it adds over 700lbs to the rear and 350 to the front! I also keep my box blade on for a little extra when using the loader or hauling logs to the mill.
@southernadirondackoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the rears are loaded with 55 gallons each, none in the front. I usually have a 600 pound skidding winch on the back when moving logs with the forks and that seems to work most of the time.

@southernadirondackoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Every time I hook up an implement I think about getting a quick hitch! We have such a range (age-wise) of implements that it might be a pain to go from the new brushhog to the 1930's disk harrow. I'm guessing 1930's!

You should have wheel spacers 2” and also run an implement like a box blade that you would end up needing especially for this project anyways. The silly idea off not wanting to have a rear implement or counter wait is foolish. This is not a loader it’s a tractor with a loader attachment put something on the back of it. This is why you’ll end up hearing about people rolling there tractors…people have a lack of understanding and or have foolish pet pievs about how they want to run there machine.
@southernadirondackoutdoors Жыл бұрын
I am glad you saw the point I was trying to make...that this (and all) tractors need rear ballast for loader work. The chipper I used wasn't the best choice because of its bulk but did work well because of its weight. So far I like the skidding winch best for its compactness. A box blade would have been useful in this application but all I had at the time was a back blade which doesn't add much weight. Thanks for watching and for the input!
