hi! The pinch method should make you find out if the PCV valve is stuck closed, but what about stuck open PCV? how to check it?

Not correct. Maybe you want to rewatch? If you pinch the hose and the idle drops significantly, PCV valve is stuck open. I mentioned it in the video.

The lower idle when pinching the hose is supposed to quickly recover when you RELEASE the pinched hose, or WHILE you still have the hose pinched? Thanks.

My PCV Valve leaks at the very top where it connects to the hose(only on cold start), i noticed the clamp is loose so it may explain. I got a brand new PCV valve from the dealer and it still leaks, my main concern is... lets say i buy a new hose clamp and install it so that it properly clams onto the hose, why is there that much oil passing the valve in the first place. Hehe nevermind, i checked my entire PCV system and then ran a test, turns out the leak is coming from somewhere near the PCV valve

That's blow-by gasses. All cars have some degree of blow-by including new cars. It's more to do with the degree of air coming from there. That's also why we have PCV valves. They take this blow-by to the intake side of the engine.

What are the odds that you you posted the video at the same time I need to diagnose what's going on with my PCV. and why it triggers a P0175 and P0172. My Fuel consumption has been ridiculous. Started suddenly some weeks back.

A coincidence indeed! Hopefully, you can get to the bottom of those 2 codes. Also rule out restricted air supply from a clogged air filter, as well as a defective MAF sensor; providing wrong readings of low air volume going into the intake manifold...

You showed the Honda PCV valve but didn't demonstrate it on the accord. How do I test this on my Honda Accord 2006 v6?

Exactly the same principle applied here. Pinch the PCV hose as shown in the video and listen for a change in engine tone and idle.

@@DIYAutoworksNG I did as you said and there was a slight change in the engine sound. Very slight. I guess that's enough to say mine is fine, right? I didn't have anyone to watch my tachometer for me. Nice video, though.

Yep, that should be good. If you've never changed it, I'd plan to do so out of preventive maintenance, or clean it at least.

Question, anyone who knows... I bought a new PCV. I blew into one side horizontally (the way it is installed on my engine) and it had an air leak. Vertically, there was no air leak. I returned it and got another one, but the same issue? Maybe my lungs are not as strong as an engine! What do I do? Order another one? On my engine (toyota) it is a difficult R&R.

The blow test is now for old-style PCV valves. Some newer PCV valves will have air blow through them.

A really bad PCV valve can cause starting problems, but not a no-crank. I'd look into the battery, starter, neutral safety switch etc..
