I did the crackle finish by accident when I was working at a hobby shop in the RC car dept. I did custom paint work for customers. Anyways, I laid down a base of basic black then two coats of yellow and red. Well turns out I mixed fuel proof paint and regular paints and after it dried I was so disappointed at what had happened but it was done. So I took it to work to give it to the guy and he was over the moon with what I'd done. The paints didn't mix well and the black paint cracked and the yellow and red mixed together and it lookd like a lava flow. It was wild. I thought I ruined it but he loved it. That was many, MANY years ago. Sorry for the long read 😐

6:07 when this paint first come out back in the early nineties the guy who owned my 3000GT SL before me spent almost $8,000 having that car painted this color, it was the year Jeff Gordon drove the DuPont color-changing car to promote the new paint. It used to take about 12 different paints multiple layers tons of clear coat and lots of money to get this color and now it's in a spray can. Gotta love technology.

@RezaLava I still have it, it doesn't look like it once did. But I intend to bring it back one day 😉. It's also one of the more rare removable glass roof cars, not the little sunroof but almost a targa but you get to keep the A pillers 😂. Those a pillars are the only reason this car wasn't the star car in place of the Supra in the first fast and furious, they claimed they couldn't do the stunt at the end where Vince jumped into the car with the pillars,( even though that car was technically a Stealth that they kitted out to look back like a 3000 GT) You should check one out if you're not already familiar. Thanks for the Kool videos please keep em coming. 👍

That paint you used @5:27 - when it came out in the 1990's, we use to call it "Flip-Flop" paint. Cool effect with it. - In the 1990's, it wasn't in a spray can though. That was only achieved through a professional automotive paint store. Nice to see that, over time, painting became much more easier.

This was so much fun, your joy and excitement makes me feel like I'm playing with the cans myself! Your guess of 20cm had me almost falling off the couch laughing - for next time, 30cm is 12in (a ruler's length), 15cm is 6in. Hope that helps with spray distance for any other pesky metric cans you get!

The marble effect was much like spray adhesive! I'm not sure if the effect is from the tip or the formulation. May be something to try the marble tip on another can? I've been wanting to experiment with different crackle colors. I love the way you just try anything and anyway of applying the paint. Might not give the desired effect, but it totally helps you discover something that you never knew existed! I'll be looking into these. 😃👍

Love the color changing spray. I have a Small Sailboat and would love to paint the boat above the water line a color that changes in the sun light/angles. Most boat paints don't allow or work with mixes but maybe this would be an option to make it happen? Would love to find someone in North Carolina who wanted to experiment (while doing a good job) with such an idea...
