Ideal Axe: - The center of mass is close to the head for maximal chopping action Ideal Shovel: - The center of mass is far back so balancing dirt on the shovel is easier Apart from that strange oversight truly baffeling compromises were made here - Like "Why can the head spin"
@srakin95282 жыл бұрын
Adding a locking mechanism to stop the head from spinning and changing one of the "useless" pieces of handle into a heavy weight (so you can assemble it with the weight near the head for chopping or at the end for shoveling!) would solve those. Then just make the knife not suck and you might have something functional.

Well, lest think about it for a sec, the bag may be a bit bigger, but a half way decent hatchet, $35-50, a good cheap knife $40.00, military shovel/ ? -$50, flint and steel or fire starter kit $20.00, add in another $20 for compass, and waterproof matches, so carefully shopping, you can improvise a pretty good kit.... but Watching Cody swing an inferior survival all in one tool.... The daft thing is that someone has clearly spent time thinking about the design, and effort has also clearly gone into engineering it. Yet it's almost completely unsuited for its intended purpose! It's kinda like a student who's genuinely put a lot of work and effort into something, but who still can only be awarded an F because they've not actually understood the problem they were set.

awesome test and review! i really enjoyed it, gave you a follow. Hope its not too semantic or annoying but I did have one suggestion for you ( in case it comes up again): When measuring acoustical power (of the whistle) it would actually be in + dBA, rather than -dBFS. Difference being -20dBFS as you stated would typically to be referring to the level of the signal once measured when going through your mic and into your recording hardware/software, which is only relevent for measuring headroom of a digital signal, and doesn't actually have an inherent loudness until played back again (which is completely dependent on the speaker power). Imagine that if you play that same signal back with the speakers off, it'll still be a -20dBFS signal, but acoustically its 0 dBA in terms of air pressure since the speakers are off. A-weighted Decibels would measure the sound pressure level with a microphone that is calibrated to 'hear' like how we do with our own ears in the atmosphere rather than measuring the distance of a digital signal from 'full scale' i.e. clipping point. tldr; -dBFS is how digital 'ears' measure energy in terms of how far away from clipping a signal is. A-weighted Decibels (dBA) measures energy how humans percieve it. Hope that helped!
