I test my build on the lake. It runs really well contact moate1@msn.com

the 1200 is a gem. Even with 2 adults it still hauls ass. It's the machine my friend took me out on that made me a believer. His machine will shut off if you let it idle too sometimes and he's very particular on maintenance.

It has plenty of power for sure. Makes me want to ressurect that junkyard 1100 non powervalve I saw.

Nice job man I believe I need to fix the one I have and get it running

That non powervalve 1200 is faster than the pv version.

@@ShadetreeJetski I not shore about that my gp 1200r ran 64mph on gps but I have never rode or tested a npv 1200
@a_drewski Жыл бұрын
@@ShadetreeJetski not even close. The 1200r is 5-7 mph faster in stock form. When both are modded, the 1200r is almost 15mph faster (85 vs 70)
@ShadetreeJetski Жыл бұрын
@a_drewski This one IS faster than the 2004 1200XLT that I rode. That one only went 55mph but it is much heavier.
@a_drewski Жыл бұрын
@@ShadetreeJetski Then that xlt was running poorly. It’s also not a fair comparison, the xlt has a much larger hull than the gpr. Gpr with the same engine is 64-65 mph stock.

Is your engine also shaking like crazy at 1500-2000 rpm’s? For me it seems that the right idle is at 3000 rpm but yours is idling at just 1500. I just got the motor rebuilt, so don’t want to break it by that shaking.
@ShadetreeJetski Жыл бұрын
Most of the shaking can be that your alignment from the engine coupler to the hull coupler is not lined up good. They all shake, but if thal alignment isnt done with the proper shims it is much worse. It also could be the bearing in the hull is going bad or needs to be lubed. I will say this one shakes more than the GP1300R. 1800 RPM to 2000 is normal for idle.
@Mermasora Жыл бұрын
@@ShadetreeJetskiNo, that definitely not related to the coupler. The engine even changes the pitch, almost like it’s stalling and shakes from side to side in very high amplitude. But if you put even lower rpm, like 500-800 then it runs good the same like on 3000. I haven’t tested it in water yet, only on driveway connected to hose. I suspect that being out of water it will have higher rpm’s due to the fact that it’s easier to spin the pump. But anyways, thanks for the reply.

He mate, I have a question on the carbs setting, is 1 & 3/4 the factory setting for the high mixture screw on all 3 Cheers
@ShadetreeJetski Жыл бұрын
No the high mixture screw is 1/2 out on two of them and 7/8 on the middle according to SBT. So 1/2 on cyl1 and 3 and 7/8 turn for cyl 2.

Cheers for that mate 🤙

Got another question for you mate, if I remove the oil pump what is the best ratio for the 18.5 gal tank 50.1, 40.1? Reason for removing oil pump is the oil was not dropping in level so I would like to mix instead Cheers again mate.
@ShadetreeJetski Жыл бұрын
@@JerryMartinCurley 40:1 is the most common mix.
@wakeboardpro93 Жыл бұрын
Working on one of these right now. Did you delete the oil pump? Is this something that I should do and premix instead?
@ShadetreeJetski Жыл бұрын
I put the oil pump back in service. I like the oil system, especially with the proper line and clamps. It is a choice you have to make for yourself.
@azr2d1 Жыл бұрын
Im researching it too and apparently the oil pump is more precise in the amount of oil it needs at different rpm's. Premix it would always be the same oil. Both are probably fine but if the pump runs good it might give you a tad more power and a cleaner burn.
@ShadetreeJetski Жыл бұрын
@azr2d1 Yes that is correct. The pump rarely if ever fails. It is the lines going from the pump to the engine that fail causing engine failure.
@azr2d1 Жыл бұрын
@@ShadetreeJetski Thanks man. Sounds like an easy way to avoid failure is to replace the lines. right?

Hi ,i have the same one and when i let it idle in the water it shut down but out the water it runs perfect, and it's a bit hard to start in the water, the other problem is i can see on the dashboard it keeps flashing saying no volts. Can you please help?
@ShadetreeJetski Жыл бұрын
Sounds like you need to turn up the idle screw. The no volts could be a wiring issue or a bad stator.
@alaasuleiman4936 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your reply, I'll try that

One more question i just removed the spark plugs and found water on them?
@ShadetreeJetski Жыл бұрын
@alaasuleiman4936 Is it water or are they wet with fuel? Likely fuel which means you are running rich which is better than lean. Still the carbs need adjusting if there is that much fuel on the plugs.
