one thing I've seen about artichokes is that if you cut them and then boil them to put lemon juice in the water and it keeps them from browning, I've never had artichoke either, but i'm curious to try it, also the artichoke heart is what they use for spinach artichoke dip, which is in the middle, if you cut the whole thing in half, theres the choke which is furry and u wanna get rid of that part and then theres the artichoke heart

I grew up eating artichokes (shout out to my grandpa, the produce manager who made sure we all ate a little of everything) & it became a thing in my family to introduce them to friends who had never tried them. When I had my daughter, we continued the tradition when she had a friend sleep over bc the shock & awe on their faces when they found out how yummy they are made us so happy.

Whenever I make artichokes I never cut anything off but leave a little bit of the stem, I boil them until the leaves are good to eat and soft, then I dip them in lemon butter! I only use real lemons and margarine because real butter throws off the lemon flavor in my opinion. That’s just how I have been doing it for years 🙂

In my country we boil them, like you did, but instead of dipping it in butter and garlic, we make a vinagrette, with olive oil, vinegar or lemon, dijon mustard, garlic, salt and pepper, adjust everything to taste, and then we dipp the leafs in and eat it like you did, it's soooooooo good!!!!

The chopsticks are there so you don't cut the cucumber all the way through. You use rice wine vinegar, sugar and soy sauce for your dressing.

You could of thinned rhe ranch dip with a little lemon juice added a couple dropped of hot sauce and a little cheese like feta or any crumble cheese mixed that up with a little minced garlic and drizzled that over your cucumber salad jalapeños bananah peppers and baby tomatoes that would of been BOMB :)

Been eating artichokes like this for years. U cut the top off of them cuz there's little spikes on the on the points. We only make ours in the pressure cooker. They so good that way.

My favorite sauce for artichoke leaves is hollandaise. Also, once you finish the leaves under the fuzzy bit is the heart. A lot of your comments mention that's the part they use for dips, but you can also just cut it up and eat it, and I feel strongly that it's the best part. Especially when you pressure cook instead of boil
