Cool test guys! The proper Motul to use is the Micro 2T as it's designed for Ethanol, Methanol and would be the most appropriate pre-mix for E85. I've done similar tests for stability and how it stays in solution at a realistic 100:1 ratio, but I haven't burned them off to see for residue.

I think I prefer the OMP adaptors since there isn't anything wrong with oil metering system except it's using sump oil with the adaptors you have an external reservoir for oil so you still use a 2 stroke oil except it's injected instead of premix

Have been running idemitsu with 98 for a couple of years. Works great just hard to source in Australia. I end up having to order a batch from mazdatrix in the U.S.

Apex seal shoot out would be interesting if it includes technical data rockwell hardness ect. Not just "it holds 60psi" effect on housing surface....

From the test, motul turns out having less to no soot, which is best for the rotary, gonna try out the motul if its gonna leave black residue on my rx8 exhaust tips. Great vid 👍🏻

Unless your Rotary is turbo charged it doesn't need to run on e85. Just a good non ethanol unleaded petrol is fine. I and others have run back to back tests on using different octane fuels and e85. On a Large IPRA Bridgeport Standard non ethanol unleaded made just as much horsepower as e85 and even avgas. Spend your money on a good set of NGK plugs instead.

@@dimmacommunication i use a penrite, it just 800Baht in thailand. Motul 800 is 1600 Castrol a747 is 1600 Htx976+ is 2000 Penrite is best for me. 🙏🙏🙏

Since my RX3 decades ago i found unless you are racing your wankel engine and getting the temperatures right up,ricin castor based oils will clag up your engine big time and lead to premature apex seal failure as the seal grooves clog up solid eventually..Dont use castor for general street use..Ive tried all the lubes on the market over the years and the best of the best in my own experience and opinion on the 13B (and i know im going to get shot down here) is Aviation Gas Turbine Jet Engine oil mixed at 100:1 with the OMP plus adaptor connected as well..It also mixes with methanol and is great for racing use too...with the bonus of a sweet smelling exhaust.

A lot of sources like essexrotary and some people that are rebuilding RX8 engines are saying that lubrication of central parts of apexes is insufficient, so it may be worth it to add premix at least for series 1. Don't you think so? Also they say that bearings are suffering from thin 5w30 oil and suggest higher viscocity oil like 10w30+.

@@She1lby Just change your oil often, it's not the oil, it's about how many Km you let it sit in your engine. As soon asi mine starts to turn brown, it goes out. As for the SAE viscosity, it depends on the climate you live.

Hey Mates! A guy I met on a rotary engine site told me to not use any synthetic oil in a rotary engine. The only brand I can find that presently does not have synthetic oil is Briggs & Stratton 2 cycle oil. The bottle says it is ashless. The guy I was talking about says synthetic oil leaves deposits in the engine. Maybe that's what that brown liquid left when you burned it. Hmmmm. What do you guys know about what's ok to mix with non-ethanol gas?

This oils can behave totally different under atual work onditions - high pressure, heat etc. Perhaps what You do may give some clue, but I'm not certain about it... And Who told You that better mixed oil performs better ? Perhaps the one creating drops directly at the edge of the rotor where is the actual friction is better. This kind of 'tests' are shit.
