The issue for the villager is in the pathfinding, the coders likely used some shortcuts when making them/created rules that contradict, this results in the villager changing it's walking path even if the normal rules say it shouldn't.

@Brayden Hoffner Basically the same issue that happens with hostile mobs and signs, the programing treats the sign as if it's a solid block even though it isn't. It's how a lot of mob grinders worked.
