finally my years of experience in financial offices comes in handy!!! for the staple remover, flip the pages over and pry up the little staple arms first (the remover will not tell you to do this, but if you do then you can remove the staple with minimal damage).

Those staple removers are a GAME CHANGER for getting staples out of bulletin boards and walls because the staples don’t bend in when you do that. It makes taking things off the walls of my classroom SO MUCH QUICKER. Ive had a Staples brand one for the entire 18 years ive been teaching and it is an essential tool.

I'm a mom and a teacher. I use or have used many of these items. My daughter, who is in college, told me recently that having her sandwich cut like a heart or butterfly made her feel extra cool and loved at the lunch table. I used large cookie cutters. Cut each ingredient separately for better results. I use the floor desks, my 4th graders love them. I use a version of scratch offs as prizes. The staple remover is especially helpful while changing bulletin boards.

The stapler remover is amazing for teachers bc we put up bulletin boards and staple things to walls and cork boards and such. So when the staples go into these surfaces, they don’t bend the way staples bend on paper. So using it to remove things from the classroom walls is easy since they come out straight not bent. I wouldn’t really use stapler removers for removing staples on paper. Unless I first use it on the back of the stapler to lift the little metal curved ends and straighten them and then turn it over and remove normally if that makes sense.

I used these in grad school 10 years ago. My toddler daughter found them in my books last year and proceeded to peel them all off and stick them to the walls. So I can say that yes they remove and restick basically indefinitely until you get them dirty....I will say the ones I used were like 2 or 3 inches long little flag type highlighter tapes. Much easier to use than a whole roll of tape

I used to use the heart sandwich cutter (similar to the one shown in the video) all the time for my daughter. She hated crust, so it was useful. Some brands have larger pieces of bread which worked better...the smaller bread was a problem. Salami is hard to cut with those cutters, but something like PB&J or Nutella is fine, sometimes turkey or thin ham.

Because a boiled egg comes out of the shell that way because of the membrane inside the shell. When you crack a raw egg, there's no way to not puncture the membrane so the contents aren't contained & are instantly surrounded by air. It'd turn out, at best, like a poached egg.
@AliP1970
@AliP1970 Жыл бұрын
To peel a hard boiled egg - just tap both ends on the counter, one end will crush more than the other. The most important part is breaking the membrane. One you get thru that you can roll the egg between your hands or on the counter and it should be relatively easy to peel without losing parts of the egg. Also, with the egg shapers you should leave them in the fridge over night. I've seen a lot of reviews on these and done my own testing too. Always love your videos. 💜💜💜

That floor seat is kind of EPIC for every floor dweller. I think that's perfect for high schoolers and college students. I WISH I'd had that floor seat in high school. I would have sat on it propped up against the sofa on the floor without having to have a lap desk cutting off circulation or making my lap really hot (the polyester cover plus the polystyrene beads inside gets WARM this time of year). I think this seat & the highlighting tape are the most universally useful finds.

Eggs done in the Instant Pot have ALWAYS peeled beautifully…no grey/green ring around the yolks. 2min HP (high pressure), 12min NR (natural release), 5min ice bath. It doesn’t matter how many eggs you put in. New eggs, older eggs, farm fresh eggs, eggland’s best, etc. I’ve tried baking soda, vinegar, peeling contraptions…nothing worked consistently. Also, I used the same molds for years and never had to put them in hot. As long as the eggs were cool enough to handle, they always worked. I hope you try again with bigger, nicely peeled eggs. They end up so cute. It was the only way my kids ate eggs all through their elementary school years. I’ve put many a mom onto these molds! Good luck! PS-my daughter and I are ADDICTED to your videos! You’ve probably saved us from purchasing a lot of junk.

Ok, I had to pause this because my oldest son will only eat homemade jam, either made by me or my mom. One day, several years ago, my son was living with friends, and grandma gave him 2 jars of jam and asked him to give one to his brother and keep one for himself. He told her that he would, in fact, be keeping both because "Cordel is a heathen and will eat Smuckers, so I will just appreciate his jar too." AND HE DID!! I had several jars frozen, so it wasn't a problem, but the fact he refused to pass it on was pretty funny in our family. The other hill he will die on (and I agree with this one) is apple cider. His roommates would drink from his sad little half gallon of cider bought from an apple orchard, and then replace it with store bought gallon from Walmart or Meijer saying they gave him more in repayment. He would complain to ME about how it isn't even close to being cider and mad he had to drink "swill". So I would buy him a quart to take home, and 2 gallons to leave at my house and he would just bring his quart over and fill it out of that. We don't have to worry about it any more because he now lives with his girlfriend and would let her have the last bite of his homemade jam and wash it down with every drop of the cider and not think twice about it but for a while there I think he seriously doubted his friends or brother had taste buds 😂😂😂

You should always use a staple remover on the back of the page/staple to spread the legs of the staple first, then flip to remove from the front. There's minimal damage that way - only the little holes from the staple themselves remain.

Amazing "hack" I learned recently for peeling hardboiled eggs and use every time: fill a glass/cup 1/3-1/2 of the way with water, put the egg in there, put your hand over the top and shake it hard several times (do it over a sink because water will splash out). The shell comes off so fast and clean. I think the impact against the cup/glass cracks the shell, and the movement of the water gets under the membrane to help the whole thing just slip off. And I do also think using the instant pot to cook them makes it easier to peel!

I cannot recommend enough one of those wire cheese cutters. Knives and I don't get on well when it comes to cheese, but the wire cutters work on soft & firm cheeses and save your wrists. _(Also, I don't remember if you've said anything about how you hard boil your eggs, but I've had such an easier time peeling with the method I use: Get the water boiling and ease your room-temp eggs into the boiling water; turn off the heat and put the lid on immediately; leave covered there on the stove for 15 mins; then dunk in cold water. They peel SO much easier.)_

The desk thing looks like it would be easy to put a couch cushion or if you sew make a custom one to fit on it that would remove for easy cleaning and more comfort and fun.... Also Kids could customize with stickers!

It’s not you Rach, Canadian eggs are minuscule (coming from someone that has lived in a few countries, CA eggs are super small in comparison)

Most of those sandwich cutters look made for standard sandwich bread, which is a little more square or taller. Hard to find stuff for the fancier, wider bread, like reusable sandwich containers. Even most cheese or lunch meat is made for the squarer bread, requiring creative folding to get complete coverage of what the more rectangular bread.

Everything else that's good about it, I'm so glad school lunches are free here so we didn't have to think about preparing it. I can't even decide what to eat nowadays, I can't imagine if I had to do that when I was in school because both me and my mom suck at that 😭 kudos to all of you who do that on a daily basis

Its really good that the kids labels dont have diffrent pictures...so your kids who cant read can "read" the picture....and everyone else the name

Kindergartners love those chair things. Obviously not for a replacement for a desk, but when they are doing independent reading or another short activity. They always fight over who gets to use one.

I literally just perfectly peeled 3 eggs. Make a small hole on the top and the bottom, and then blow through one side of the egg. It sends aid around the whole egg and then you can take the peel of perfectly ♥️♥️♥️

If you roll your boiled eggs after slightly cooling them, while applying gentle pressure, it should make it easier to peel. If you're not worried about the shapes, dunk them in ice cold water immediately, roll them on the counter with pressure so they crackle then put them back in the water, the water will get into the cracks and help the shell come off more easily.

The dinosaur works well as well as the dolphin if you have that one I’ve made them for my daughter for pb&j and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Those seats are nice. I wouldn’t have an entire class set, but having about 8 would have been nice for when I did small group work or when kids had workspace choice and preferred to not be in their desk, but somewhere on the floor.

Easy way to peel hard boiled eggs… people say to do it before you boil it, but when I tried I cracked most of them so I tried after it was boiled and it worked just as well… after it’s boiled use a spoon to hit the round side of it gently until you hear a snap.. that’s the membrane and boom it’ll peel in basically one or 2 peels.

I don’t know how to easily peel eggs without doing an ice bath straight after boiling. Buuuut….that would not be helpful with those molds. Lol.

i'm two months late haha, but i'm a very skilled egg peeler. i just hit it on a flat and hard surface a lot, until it's pretty cracked, then i peel it off a little bit and look for that "skin" it has and put fingers under it and kinda lift it using my thumb. i dont know if this is understandable hahahaha
