Wayne Goss has done the tissue hack for years. I learned that from him and it makes my makeup stay on longer and fresher looking, even with dry skin. Additional tip to save under eyes I learned from a more ‘mature’ tik toker: apply concealer and before applying ‘light’ powder (NOT bake), lightly dab setting spray with finger until dry under eyes, then apply powder under eyes...powder will not go crepey or dry all day. I use it everyday; it’s perfection!!! These work for me with someone who has more mature skin.♥️

Is it a certain setting spray? Don't most have alcohol in them to 'set' everything and dry down? I'm just imagining a drying, alcohol setting spray on my crepey undereyes. 😵 I have contact dermatitis, so I have to be careful.

I think the bronzer/blush hack was good but i would not take it to far up the temple. We dont usually blush there so it makes it seem heavy and harsh.

@ashley42903 жыл бұрын
@@makeupsessed7851 it still looks odd because people don't generally get flushed in that area. So it looks more makeup-y versus amplifying natural skin. The "traditional" side would also look better without smiling when applying because once you rest your face normally it will make the area that has blush on it lol lower than when you applied it which will make your face look a bit odd as well. Keep face neutral, apply where it works best for your face shape and what you're wanting to emphasize, and it would look better than both sides shown in the video.

@pagecarlee6263 жыл бұрын
Not a big fan of the blush/bronzer "hack" - maybe it's just on screen but I thought it made you look washed out, almost grey and very flat. Personally I think it would look a lot better if you went lighter on the bronzer and made the blush more prominent & moved it up just slightly. I think the lower blush placement makes people look older. Again it's possible that it's just on screen, makeup looks way different without softbox lighting but I definitely think the "hack" was unflattering.
@Ashleydshaffer3 жыл бұрын
I think somewhere in between would be perfect. The left side looks more round but it also gives a more youthful, healthy, plump skin effect. The right side looks more “adult” but the blush was too high and looked like an odd placement.

Hi Rachel! Thanks for testing the hacks for us! I do have a bit of a thing about applying bronzer where you would more naturally put a contour, like underside'ish of cheekbone. A bronzer is supposed to go where the sun would hit and tan (or burn, depending whom you are), so forehead, temples, and along cheekbones and nose. Otherwise, it's contouring (which can certainly be done using a bronzer). Hey! Words matter!

So that mascara “hack” is actually how you’re supposed to apply any of the tubing mascara formulations-they won’t really work “right” if you don’t. For regular mascara formulas, that hack is gonna be pretty dependent on how thick and strong your lashes are, what direction they grow, and how well they hold curl. If you have thin lashes that can’t take a lot of weight or curl, you can dust and set the tops of your lashes with a dark eyeshadow pigment, instead, with bonus playing with colors fun.

You could see the creases in her smile lines when she showed the result. Then she put on the blurring powder and they seemed to disappear. I also believe a lot is taken away by a filter. That blush hack is similar to how makeup used to be done in the 80s. It's sort of like how I apply it, but I don't bring it so high up the temple. Try a little lower and bring it to the outer corner of the eye to almost half way, instead of keeping it before the corner of the eye. I think Wayne Goss talks about blush placement like that. He usually likes to use a bright pink because on the skin it gives you that "I've been out in the sun" look.

Lol! I’ve tried quite a few of those hacks... back in high school in the 80’s! That’s how many of us did our makeup - or similar anyway - thanks to fashion magazines. Mascara hack - The mascara trick has been around for ages as a way to thicken and lengthen lashes. Bronzer hack - We didn’t have bronzer at all. We just used blush along our cheekbones and up along the temple (the hack), the a darker color blush called the contour under the cheekbones (your bronzer). Foundation - We used only one shade of foundation (praying it matched our skin tone), rubbed in with our fingers. Just not as much as the hack. Only enough to cover our face, but not past the jawline. I don’t remember anyone covering their lips like that hack, just stopped at the lip line. Concealer - Concealer was set with translucent powder, but since it was either used under foundation or on top, everything but our mascara was brushed or patted with powder. Concealer and foundation were our “base”. Our routine was base, sometimes powder, cheeks, eyes (minus the mascara), powder (which was a good way to tone down heavy handed blush applications), mascara, and lastly lip. Fake lashes weren’t a makeup staple, just used for fancy occasions.

I think Rachel looks perfectly fine without makeup and she doesn't need it because she has a very beautiful face and all of this stuff on your face is just going to age you and dry out your skin and clog up all of your pores. And the extra effort that you have to take to get it off of your skin is going to cause wrinkles. I think we would all be better off if people were less makeup or no makeup at all.

I use the blush hack, and realy like it! But i bring the blush forward a lot more then she did. Almost as forward as you normally woud with blush, but just higher up.
