Hi Wade! Thanks so much for the thoughtful and constructive feedback. I can't express enough how grateful I am for you taking the time to do this series. I know it's been a while, but I have since made adjustments to the candle with the cork top. The large tin, I'm so sorry to see how it performed. I thought I'd worked out the wax/wick combo, but that one is no longer available while I work out the combination of materials. The wave wicks are available in a 20mm size as well, but it's a testing for another day. Maybe one day in the future, if you're open to it, I can try again so you can see the adjustments that have been made. Either way, thanks again for your time!

That wavy wick looks so cool and unique that I never seen before. I'm a beginner candle maker, I havent launched yet and I've been testing my container and dessert candles rigorously to avoid complications. These videos give me hope and a piece of mind that many candle businesses arent perfect and I'm glad that my testing will make safe and great candles. I would love to send you a dessert candle once I have perfected my craft.

You made a very good point about how some people might not realize that the candle sitting for longer is a good thing. I can attest, before actually learning more about candle making if I would have seen a candle dated from 2021 I wouldn't have bought it. I think it is because we, as most consumers, are programmed to see it as a "this is way past its best before date".

Wow, this batch was definitely interesting! Wood wicks are intimidating (to me as a fellow candlemaker anyway) so props to the maker for putting in the effort to makes these! Even more so for making some creative combos in container size and wick type. That wavy one was so interesting and I've never seen that type before. It burns like a waveform of sound and is so pretty to watch in the clips!

That's too bad about the large candle with the wave wick. The initial burn was so cool but I'd be pissed if that burned my table and I think it definitely would. Loved those candles though! This batch of candles really proves how important testing really is and hopefully she hasn't sold any yet with those issues in them! Your assessment was great, and I really enjoyed watching! Your expertise is really valuable and very much appreciated, thank you!

Hello again Wade…I loss the replied comment and recommendations you gave me on my problem with soot coming from my candle. If you remember…I’m using 6006 with a 3.25 Dia vessel (using an ECO 8, as recommended by Candle Science 😵💫) You said something about a 700 wick and Linx 😳😬🤔 what distributor have these wicks??
@BlackTieBarn2 жыл бұрын
Premier 700 can be found at flaming candle, Aztec, hive and honey, and others. Lx wicks . Most suppliers sell them. It's best to Google search for them and go with best shipping prices for you usually. That will vary by location

Hey wade! Speaking of ribbon wicks like the ones you showed in that clip, I have tons of those but i don't know what wax they're best for. Also because of the burn of those wicks you really have to keep your eyes on the candle. I don't get a hot throw from them either and I bought tons of them. Any suggestions

Not really. I didn't like them at all. Lol

wow that tin scared me. another awesome review! I think tins get too hot anyway.. I tried the spiral wicks with 464 in a 3 inch .. glass and ceramic. its got a huge flame with soy..and each time I blew it out it just reminded me of a cigarette. it looks like an upside down cigarette and I guess not appealing to me. I also made 40 of these candles that I sell in public at a market.. NONE of the spiral wick candles sold . I sold soo many others, mainly the regular cotton wicks. people don't tent to reach for the wood wicks as much from what I can tell and im still stuck with these spiral wicked candles. btw.. what do you do with inventory that doesn't sell? how long do you keep? do you do discounts, donate? etc. thks

9:00 ooh be interesting to see if that wick works, please light it😅 I've never seen a wick like that. edit; okay i see why i haven't seen these types of wicks, i love to burn candles 24/7 that wouldn't be good for me, I would burn the house down😂 but it's so pretty, ide love to see this candle with a thinner wavey wick.
