4th edition by Rex Black is not available any where, could you help with some other book or the place where 4 the edition will be there ?

Hi Monika Darij! You can check older versions of the book, but since ISTQB 2018 exam version is only available it is the best choice to find that book.

Yes, there is 3rd edition, but it was relevant for old version of the exam 2011, the fourth edition is valid for new version, 2018

Thank you for your question Shruthi A Foundations of Software Testing ISTQB Certification, 4th edition by Rex Black (Author), Erik van Veenendaal (Author), Dorothy Graham Reference is in the link under the video. You need to know everything in the book very well. That book itself it is like 1000 facts, terms, classifications etc. And all of that needs to be learned. That is why the exam s quite complex.

@@federicostoppo1117 this is third edition, I recommend to read only chapter 4 there, black-box techniques only. Other theory is outdated. Use syllabus 2018 instead to prepare for other chapters

Book is helpful if it is 4th edition. And if it is 3rd edition, you can partially use it. For example you can read explanation for test design techniques. But I recommend to read the newest syllabus first and then compare difference, and take syllabus as source of truth, where syllabus and 3rd edition contradict each other. I couldn't find 4th edition free online, I can suggest only, if you work in the organization, to buy book for organization, to not spent own money on it. A lot of students passed ISTQB by reading only a syllabus. But... I can't recommend to do it) Personally I purchased option with 2 tries. In that case I can try to read only syllabus, and if I fail, then read a book.
