Hey, love your channel so much! I've learned a lot from all your Kanyon vids. I've just put the same 45t motor in mine and experienced the exact same problem as you had here. Cut out at the slightest bit of resistance and was super hot when I touched it. Did you work out what caused it to overheat? I'm using the stock gearing and was wondering if that may be the issue? Your help would be greatly appreciated cos I'm new to the hobby and right now I'm stumped!

hi bud, thanks I'm glad you like the videos . I'm still running the same motor and have changed the esc , however the motor still behaves the same, on a trail it performs brilliant but as soon as it comes to any sort of steep hill or rocks it just doesn't want to know. I've been testing it for weeks now but I have come to the conclusion that it's just not good for this truck. a mate of mine said the exact same thing after testing one in his. atm I'm just using the kanyon for trail runs as I do have other trucks for rocks and harder stuff but will be changing the motor soon, lots seem to be happy with a 35t but I personally prefer a 15t or 20t but you run the risk of breaking driveshafts for fun :)

@@009ADVENTURES It's so strange that a 45t can't handle what a 35t or even lower turns can handle! Are the 15t and 20ts you've used the same brand? Would you say you still get enough torque out of a 20t? I've got steel driveshafts so they should be able to handle it. Seems a bit of a nightmare to maintain crawling ability and add a bit of speed!

yes it's can be difficult to find the right one , but not everyone needs the same capability due to terrain etc. I think a 35t suites most people, as for tourqe from a 20t you do compromise tourqe fir wheel speed, best I found for my needs is a 550 15t (ftx motor) instead of a 540 motor , that's what I will probably put back in not sure yet. as for brands I've tried a few and this rc4wd seems a good quality motor. I chose the 45 over the 35 as I thought it would have more tourqe but apparently that's not the case for some reason
