Testride - Honda XL 750 Transalp at the Bosnia Rally

The 2023 Bosnia Rally was once again an incredibly fascinating off-road adventure and took us through one of the most beautiful sections of the Balkans. We took the plunge with the new Honda Transalp. In the course of the tough off-road use, we were able to respond optimally to the Honda's taker qualities. 5 tough days of off-road riding gave us some insight!

Nice to see your perspective, thank you once again. As a beginner off-road rider with Transalp 750 I can say this bike is very friendly but still very capable. You really need to push it to need a suspension upgrade, for 95% of the casual riders like me it's more than enough. As soon as the skill increases and the demands are more high then you may wanna think about upgrading suspension. Until then, keep riding ! Greetings from Romania !

As a Honda fanboy...I don't knock anyone purchasing the Talp, but I just don't understand what this bikes usage is. It's not a good off road and Honda already has much better commuters. It looks like an ADV bike, but it won't do true ADV trails well.

@easyfromtnbtw3555 I was fully prepared to purchase the Talp and waited 2 yrs for it. Test rode it and knew it would never work for me, but shockingly the 800DE is except top end on the highway. I have better street bikes, two of which are Hondas. After riding a few adventure rides on the 800DE, I had the opportunity to switch bikes with a Talp owner. At the end of the day, we both agreed the 800DE is the better bike. I've lived my 55yrs as a Honda fan and Suzuki hater...so, you can piss off with your "have you riden one" BS. Have you riden the 800DE? There are plenty of legitimate reviewers who feel the same as I do. If you want to get your feelings hurt, just watch BigRockMoto's full reviews on both. But you enjoy the two rubber bands Honda gave you for suspension, which isn't adjustable. I guess Honda assumed you just add more rubber bands. If all you're doing is wringing out the Talp on the highway, then you enjoy while I pass you one of my Honda street bikes.

it can be added by the user for very little cost - this is nothing less than normal, its competitors do not provide CC as standard either.
