The remote breakdown is mandatory. Be sure to tighten the Allen or you do it twice… Some genie aerial equipment has this set up as well…

Why this part is plastik? There is no clutch or vibration dumping on this case. Do this part looks like design to faile over time.

I believe they are plastic so in the event of a pump failure the gear strips to prevent damage to the engine.

Citing plastic as somehow inferior is defective thinking. There are a lot of reason s for material selection. Your assumption of designed obsolescence is your cognitive bias to bear. I could cite the handful of reasons we chose various coupling strategies, but I'm not your therapist.
