Sometimes it sure feels like one issue after the other, but I usually get happy with having one around again when I am able to do a big job that I just couldnt have accomplished without it. That said, I do think more seriously all the time about buying a newer machine. Are you going to just do without? Or are you contemplating a different brand of machine? Have a super day! -Shane

Greetings from Alaska, my dad has a similar bobcat like yours, a little bit of an older model, 753 got it in the mid 90s. Our bobcat arm are able to goes up, but not able to go down (unless I shut the engine off and use the foot pedal) this goes for the same of the tilt, able to go down but not up. However, if I hit the aux power to on position (with two green lights on). Then we are able to move the arms and bucket with no issue. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. I look at the schematics and read forums and one guy said that your stem/coil could be stuck.
@AHandleOnThings3 жыл бұрын
Kin, Because it is a very inexpensive starting point I would change the coil just to rule that out in the event that isn't the problem. The options behind that are quite a bit more involved. I think the other guy is probably right and the coil is likely the problem Give 'er a try and let us know!! Stay safe brother! -Shane

My left foot pedal which is the lift control wont move but the tilt pedal is fine. could this still be the same solenoid issue?
@AHandleOnThings3 жыл бұрын
Usually a foot pedal that wont move is going to be a stuck or jammed linkage. Lift the cab and wiggle the linkage for that pedal and I will guess you will find the problem Good luck and let us know what you find! -Shane

Strange that I have that same 17-07 code and the lift and tilt light slowly flashes, but I don't have any problem with it lifting or tilting or driving or anything. Since I bought this used, could it have been fixed by the previous owner and the code wasn't cleared? Or do you not have to clear codes like you do on a car?

I got a Bobcat 873 with a no Tilt or Lift problem. Grandpa filled the hydraulic tank with diesel fuel by mistake and ran that mixture through the system. At first it locked up the whole machine, No lift or tilt and the wheels wouldn't move. Since then we were able to by pass the Bobcat safety protection valve for the wheels to unlock them. But can not locate the one for the arms or tilt. With the oil and Diesel mixture now all the way in the hydraulic system, and been sitting for 5 plus years. would that mixture deteariate the seals in the cylinders ?
@AHandleOnThings4 жыл бұрын
I couldn't say for certain but my instinct would be that the seals should be fine since diesel fuel is basically a light grade of oil and while it would not have the viscosity needed to allow pressure to be built up to function as a hydraulic fluid it should be pretty easy on the seals I believe. Grandpa can sure be forgiven for making a mistake like that. I have to remember to check the picture on the caps closely every time I fuel up the machine to keep from getting it wrong myself. Be sure to let us know what you determine as you go forward with the repair! My 50 cents is bet on the seals are still just fine. Stay safe and stay healthy! -Shane

@@AHandleOnThings Thank you, I'm gonna have to do some more digging on it then. But I will surely let yall know what i determined to be the cause, since its not a typical cause for a no lift or tilt. @AHandleOnThings2 жыл бұрын
Todd, Sorry for the delayed response, I have been down with the sickness, That sounds like a leaky valve that is allowing pressure to release either inside or outside the system. That can be hard to track down. I would call your local repair shop, let them know what machine you have and just ask them what they would guess. Chances are it is a common issue with whatever machine you are running and it may or may not be an easy fix! Let us now what you find! Stay safe! -Shane

If has been sitting for a while possibly a hydro value stuck open or shut but electric over hdyrdo so could be wire or the cylinoid it self. That bare wire I'd wrap with electric tape to keep it from rubbing the coating off. I liked the case 1845 1840 they was good machines the 90xt the last good case the caterpillar 289 track machines are easy to get to to work on but the first caterpillar 226 was based of the Melroe IR machines with case either case controls hand or the new one handle front and backwards and the other loader and bucket but the caterpillar 259 289 very good machines and to my on knowledge don't catch fire. I just say this because I rented a new bobcat and the sells guy tells me to get renters insurance because there is a hose that comes lose in the bottom and one has caught fire so that threw me off and would not buy one after that you'd think if knowing that's a problem they'd fix it but hey insurance works I guess. The 743 843 melroe were good machines when IR took over they went down hill. They had Kubota motors in them or duiez diesel. The John deere loders alright but had problems with a bolt that keeps the bucket pins in and they fall out when grading more than once. The track machines don't rut as bad and beat you up the tracks lgp. The early new Holland loaders good before they changed but the late 80s early 90 new Holland good the design put the motor out back a bit more for weight and the loader arms go up and out for loading trucks. The high bed trucks every loader is at is peak just to dump so depends what the operator likes but the high body beds you have to get your tracks or wheel right on the rear tires and may bust a wheel cap on the truck but thsts construction it happens nobody got killed

So went out to my 753 circa 2000 +/- today to spread some gravel and I noticed a knocking noise directly under the seat on the right side about at my butt cheek. I could tell it was some type of solenoid. The pedals would not work unless I could time it just right in between knocks. I have no active warnings. When I put pressure on the pedals the knocking stops, but they will not move. I recently replaced a hydraulic cylinder and the system did get low on hydro oil before I could get it back to a place to work on it. I have used it since the cylinder was replaced and it was fine. Could this fix be it or would it be something a little more serious?
@AHandleOnThings4 жыл бұрын
It could be this solenoid but (without being there) I would be thinking it could be an air lock (air bubble) in the hydraulic system. I would start with bleeding the hydraulics and if that didn't work I would call a service tech and ask them if they had any ideas but it sounds like an air lock to me. So minor problem is my instinct. Let us know how it comes out! Thanks and good luck, -Shane

@@AHandleOnThings Thanks for yuor answer. Another stupid question. How do I bleed the hydraulic system?
@AHandleOnThings4 жыл бұрын
Not a stupid question at all. I dont have the answer to it tho. I would give your local bobcat shop a call and ask for the procedure for your machine. A lot of them self-bleed as I understand it. Another thing to check would be if there is any gaskets from your previous repair that could be sucking air. Articles like this one lightningbay.com/signs-your-hydraulic-pump-could-be-failing/ Say that air in the system is a good bet the trick now is to find out where it is getting in at and how to go about getting it out. Sorry i can't be of more help brother. -Shane

Hi sir. Bobcat 130 sweeper not working. How to check pls give idea.
@AHandleOnThings2 жыл бұрын
Fawzan, Sweepers like mowers require a lot of fluid pressure, be sure to check that you have adequate flow and enough fluid in the tank. Some machines may require an extended holding tank for hydraulic fluid so watch for that. There really isnt all that much that can go wrong with a hydraulic motor so I would start there! Be sure to let us know what you learn! Stay safe! -Shane
