Thanks Kev, I tried to keep it short, it doesn't work all the time. Aim is always to keep under 10 minutes. Thank you so much!

When they are all small they do have pests like snails and slugs I found. Make sure to put it in the ground when it’s leaves are higher above ground

Really useful thanks. Just about to get another of these!

Thanks! These look amazing. But every time I buy something new, first I check is it invasive 😃 . I am tortured by this one!

Thank you. Great presentation and clear guidance and advice. I’ve ordered a small one which is a year old and is arriving tomorrow and the grower has advised me to keep it in a pot for a year in a sheltered position to allow the roots to grow a bit more and then I can put it in my garden. Yours looks lovely.

Thank you:) I am sure you will cherish this plant, always showcase in my garden but I advise that don't put it in the ground, my lawn has been completely destroyed by this giant!

Your t-rex leaf forms are really interesting. The leaf nearest to you is almost round at the ends. Yet the others higher up are more pointed. It just goes to show the variation in Tetrapanax. They are all wonderful. Rex, non-rex, steroidal giant, empress etc, etc.

Hi David, totally agree. It is just too awesome but so invasive, it has destroyed my lawn!

I bought today seeds of "T Rex "plant. They are really fresh. Hoping they will germinate well under the feating mat. Very good video. Thank you 👍👍👍

Thanks! I hope it all goes well. A warning my plant has gone wild and out of hand, very invasive (letting you know before you decide final planting position). You might be fine but just sharing😊

We planted our T. rex right at the front of the border and it has grown with the same shaped trunk as yours. Had ours for at least six years and haven’t had a single sucker yet sadly but is in a busy border. Just in case anyone is looking for bananas 🍌 , randomly found Lidl selling very healthy musa banana plants at £2.49 each yesterday 😊 Bargain !

I am excited about the sucker! Yes, it needs a lot of space. I don't have big garden and every plant to has to fight for space. Even if its wonky, I think it's cool. How tall is yours
@elf99673 жыл бұрын
@@urbantropicaluk it’s about 5 ft , yours looks alot taller. It does seem to have more leaves on it this year . Last year it flowered for the first time but didn’t seed sadly . Love your plants and garden 😊

@@elf9967 thank you so much for your kind comments. That means a lot to me. My rex had two heads at the top if you watch closely. My son was playing football and he knocked over the plant and one branch collapsed. I was upset for few minutes but I knew it will be back soon 😊.

@@elf9967 it is very cool to see it flower. I have never seen it seeding as well. Is yours in full sun.
@elf99673 жыл бұрын
@@urbantropicaluk Yes my T. rex is in full sun. I know your pain when a plant gets damaged, the largest frond from one of my tree ferns was snapped off by a large crow landing on it this week ! 🌴 I saw your video on caladiums , how are yours doing ? This is the first year I have tried to grow them but they don’t seem to be sprouting at all .

what was that small leaved tree on the right side of the Tetrapanax Rex?

Hi. I am really sorry I don't know the name. I just live its shape even if it doesn't look exotic. Thank you for watching!

I have planted some seeds as I couldn’t find anywhere that sells them.

Hi, it is available on Facebook marketplace sometimes and also online garden centres. It became almost invasive in my garden, too many runners in my lawn. I have dug them up (no root) just leaves popping up. I will post the video soon about it. I was in shock to spot so many of them 😊
@geesgardeningclubuk52472 жыл бұрын
@@urbantropicaluk hi thanks, if my seeds germinate i plan to keep then in pots anyway as i have a small garden 👍🏼
@urbantropicaluk2 жыл бұрын
@@geesgardeningclubuk5247 that's good idea. I am so bad with pots. I will suggest do use moisture retaining media as pots dry up quite quickly but again I am no pro with pots . That's why I end up having raised beds. My weakness is I never water enough!

I’m thinking about getting one. Are they poisonous or dangerous if inhaled?
@urbantropicaluk6 ай бұрын
T rex, I have never heard that these are poisonous. They get brown stuff on stem if that is removed from the stem and then inhaled may be you will get some irritation but I have never experienced it

Can Tetrapanax papyrifera's runners spread over my neighbor's fence?

Based on my experience good chance if neighbour side is lawn or border (not hard landscaping)
