I do not play Tetris and even I could tell something was not right. I watched his Tetris Effect run in sgdq and this was like night and day, definitely something up with the inputs unfortunately. Still very entertaining. I would really enjoy seeing him again, he is consistently entertaining.

Managed to snipe games 1 and 3. First game I placed 93rd wah wah waaahh, but redeemed myself by finishing 8th in the last game. Props to GDQ for adding a battle royale and Blink for putting up with finicky joycons

It emulates the PC keybinds for modern Tetris, where in general the arrow keys move the pieces, and the z, x, c, and spacebar control the spins and holds.

if you learn it that way first it helps as your not unlearning your old muscle memory but its a easier system as it puts the buttons that need to be faster and efficient on your dominant hand

It was mostly just a showcase of Tetris99 Invictus mode. It has a slow enough matchmaking queue to make it possible for viewers to snipe the lobby, including people in the audience. They had a certain amount of time to spend and managed to get 3 games in, but it isn't a speedrun in the traditional sense. Mostly just for fun as Tetris has always had a presence at GDQ events.
