I distinctly remember playing this for hours on a cross country road trip when I was 12. I yelled out and told my whole family I launched the space shuttle in tetris but none of them cared or understood. I was still proud of myself. One of my best gaming moments.

I’m thirty three years old, and grew up playing this on the old block gameboy and never realized there was more to the game than just trying to get a high score. Life fail. 😑

I'm so sorry, I think I only did it on a handful of occasions, very satisfying though! I hope you at least did the 'two play throughs' of Super Mario Land and got the Level Selector?

I played the old original gameboy tetris of my sons was maybe 1989 or early 90s? o cant member I got to pyramid scene and the rocket launch scene multiple times I dont remember one I often acheived but the other only a few times ...As the ol dad I am proud to say I was better than amy of my kids! LOL But it was the only game of theirs I played so that was the advantage of specialization lol....it was always on the long trips to and from our high desert cabin where we rode dirtbikes many many many weekends Was hours on end of driving which I split with my wife ....we often grabbed a sleeping child's gameboy and killed time that and listening to pop rock on radio or tape

@@trelomanga9009 so many memories. I don't know if you know this. But, there was a way to put the game in super fast mode at the start of the game. If you held select (not sure) while the console was turning on. I did it once and I didn't know how I did it. I found out many years later thanks to the Internet. Search it

@@trelomanga9009 correction it was down+start at opening screen. It adds 10 to the levels. 1 becomes 11 2 becomes 12 And so on. It's called the heart mode

Probably a different level and high. This is on 9 and high. The toughest, even where emulation is concerned. Just feels like they all run t slower or not as good responses from dpads.

The game was invented by a Soviet when the Space Race was still on.

Not a US space shuttle, actually that was the soviet Buran, a vehicle inspired by, yet surprisingly different from the space shuttle. the main way you can tell the difference is the shape of the solid rocket boosters and the fact that while the US space shuttle has 2 SRB's, Buran has 4.
