I like how at 1:08 he actually _downplays_ how hard it is to get GM in TGM3. Surviving the invisible roll to get GM is what you need in TGM*2*. In TGM3 unlocking and failing the roll doesn't guarantee you any grade above m9 at all; you need to both survive the roll and _clear several Tetrises_ (in perfect play, at least 4 or 5 of them) _while everything is invisible_. ...And _*then*_ the game still only gives you the second-highest grade. It wants you to prove that it (cont.)

prove that it wasn't a fluke; you need to do all of that again. And again. And again. And again. And *_then_* after the best 4 plays out of the past 7 have been GrandMaster-worthy, the game gives you a Promotional Exam, which, if you pass (cue sweating and fuckups knowing that this is THE one), gives you the grade. It's no wonder only 6 people in the world have pulled this off.

This was when he got World Rule GM back in 2011, which is much easier despite the sonic-drop instantly locking the pieces, and he got Classic Rule GM in 2015. That's why the GM rank in the video appears red.
